Too bad GM played the bait and switch game rather than giving us the real 0-60 of the base 'vette.
So what they did is different then when Ford said the new 18 Mustang can go 0-60 in under 4 sec. Show me a base GT doing that.

The C8 will do high 10's from the factory .. Yup .. Faster 0-60 yup!
That might be a stretch for a stock one with street tires. But I do expect low 11's.

Bait and switch is reaching out to a Ford dealer about their advertised GT350 price and then be told the advertised price is wrong, true price includes ADM. I can’t tell you how many times I went through this back in 2016 and 2017.

GM pumps out around 30-40k corvettes per year.

It will be unique for about 1 day.
Try under 13k on average until the c8, and the only that was in the mid 30s was the 2014. While not a limited production car by any means, it's still a third of the Mustangs they sell.

You are a little delusional.
A 2018 Mustang GT with E85 that has roughly 500 to the crank can get into the 10's with weight reduction .. You don't think the corvette that is already way lighter, with the 8 speed DCT at 500 will do the same??

Hmmmmm

Mustangs running that fast are 500 whp. Not crank.

Thats not true at all, lund did it with only E85 and weight reduction....
Well sure, if you do enough weight reduction.
However, saying a Mustang GT with E85 will run that fast is like saying the Demon runs 9.65.

You left out the part about the mustang being on drag radials. I expect low 11s out of the Vette. But a 10.anything would be cool though.

The vette will respond less to boost and also e85 because its a slightly lower compression engine than the 5.0. It also doesnt have dual injection so it may even need injectors for e85. It also has the same rods and pistons as the lt1 so its going to max out at like 650 rwhp. Redline is also like 6600 rpm and it has less gears than the 10r80 so it may not stay in the best part of the powerband as well as a 10r80 car. I am curious to how much less parasitic loss there will be with no driveshaft and the DCT though. It should be pretty fast. Id guess ~11.4 at 123 mph or less mph.

e85 , longtubes , exhaust delete , interior seats and extra weight delete, drag pack should do it with a somewhat light driver in good D/A. Probably could do it with the seats if you got a torque converter but IDK.

My guess for the gt500 is like a 10.7@132 maybe faster. The potential of the GT500 is far beyond the c8 I think. I think the gt500 DCT will be sturdier and the engine obviously will be much more stout. Pulley e85 and a dragpack on a gt500 should hit 9's

I'm a Ford guy, but I'll seriously consider a C8 Z51 here in a few years to replace the GT350. Let Chevy work out the kinks, wouldn't mind them taking another stab at the less than great Camaro looking rear end too.

Neither car as I’ll only buy stick. So the GT350R is my choice.
