2016 Shelby GT350, 2017 Ford Focus ST, On Order 2020 CTFP Shelby GT 500 with POTTS. Car is released and awaiting shipment. I am running out of time before having to leave for Japan on July 29th.
I was late to the party but kept working phones and finally just got one. I must have called over 150 dealers over the last few days!
Most of the them are ordering for stock or the allocation was already gone. The ones that were willing to give it up had insane ADM's for a non Track Pack.
5K over was the best I could do which really kills me since I bought my R at MSRP in 16 and the dealer didn't have the "golden ticket" for the Track Pack.

My ego took a shot but I guess it is what it is. Now the wait begins! I did have one dealer in the Northeast which the ADM was a little higher than what I paid but not
by much. If anyone is interested shoot me a PM.
Don’t feel bad. You made a choice. It cost you more than you would have liked but in the end you got what you wanted and you will be happy. Nobody sets out with a plan to pay an ADM but it happens. I live in Southern CA where the ADMs are 50k or more. I ordered a car from way far away but in the end I will be happy.

Hi Tomster; Iam a little confused on your order? Did you also order the Painted Roof for $695 in addition to the $10,000 painted dual stripes??? I also am getting the Rapid Red but don't know for sure if Iam getting the painted stripes. We put them in the "Order Bank" but since my dealer has just 1 allocation and NO GOLDEN TICKETS not sure if I will get the painted stripes.

No, I cant comment on a lot of that any further. The moral of the story is learn patience. It could be a very long time.
Yup, just remember how it went with the 350 and 350R ... now they have a GT500, one with same options as the 350R (carbon rims) and painted stripes option.
My guess is, cluster #*$@.
When they say late availability, they mean it.
Ford exec's and buds get their cars this year...maybe a few others.
next year the peasants get theirs.

Ford put it in print and dealers, if anyone, should be on top of this. A quick phone call to their region rep and they should be in a better position to guess if they are going to be handed a lump of coal or showered with a golden ticket.
I see what you did there.

two days and I am too.
I figure, got at least a month before they start scheduling, and probably 9 months before it goes down the line, so that gives me plenty of time to change it.

Historically, what happened with the 350s?. Was was estimated build dates, when did they halt it, when did they resume?

Oh, that's what you are after..... You bought a CFTP. They have soft R compound tires. Production will stop on these vehicles around November and start back up in the spring (around march). When your car gets pulled for build depends on the dealership, the inventory manager for the dealership, and the regional Ford rep. These factors are moot because at this point, you have zero control over the process. It will be what it will be. If you have an allocation from a large power dealership and you are number one on the list, then your car will be built in some degree of timeliness. As pointed out, VIP allocations and friends of friends will have theirs built first. If you are some joe blow who has nothing working for him at a small dealership that by some miracle got a CFTP allocation, you will probably not see yours until next year.

On the other hand, you could get lucky. It really depends on so many variables.

I was telling people the car won’t actually be available to the general public until around feb/mar next year. Looks like I was bang on.

I doubt anyone will see a CFTP delivery for 9 months.

I like painted striped better than vinyl, but $10K is a little much. I would think those don't get sold much unless someone just wants a one off.

I am a peasant so I won’t get mine until next year. It is Ok though because the weather will not be at its best in December and January even in SoCal. It also gives me more time to dig through public garbage cans for bottles to redeem at the recycling facility. How many plastic bottles do I need to pay for a Shelby GT500?
