Heads are definitely revised and shared with GT 500 as noted in original post.
Gen 2 heads now available at Ford performance .

  • Upgraded version of Ford Performance M-6050-M52 5.2L cylinder head
  • Improved high-performance 5.2L head castings provide added strength and increased size of central cooling passages, to support higher horsepower engine builds

Are they supposed to make any more power? They donā€™t cite any addition flow. They seems to just suggest that they are designed to handle increased air from forced induction.

@olaosunt Yes, and I read they flow 2-3% better.
Interesting, they donā€™t mention anything about increase flow and they show the intake valve size to even be .1mm smaller than the gen 1.

Good to know .
Looks like a great option for us boost junkies . Lol

2019+ cars will definitely be more boost receptive.

If a predator crate motor is not offered by Ford performance Looks like there will be parts available to build your own .
Choose your compression . I say 11-12 and run E85 .

Thereā€™s another thread that popped up her today where Motor Trend put a ā€˜19 on a dyno multiple times and consistently 495-498 HP at the rear wheels

Cool. Curious if there would be any actual hp gain since the intake and it intake manifold are unchanged.

Wonder of ported intake manifold, the new 92mm TB off the GT350, and these heads? Any really significant gain to be had? 2-3% better flowing heads doesn't seem like much OR is it? Hmmm....

Gotta figure with the 2-3% better head flow, there is some calibration changes to the 19 as well that work with that.

Ok did motor trend have a happy dyno or did this stock ā€˜19 just make 50 more hp than me.

No they didnā€™t lol, that dyno is really happy on that day. What was the temp, barometer, tire pressure, gas quality. I donā€™t doubt the 2019 engine makes a few more hp and ford maybe tweeted the tune but 50 more whp yeah right. And remember if itā€™s a factory freak the gains you get from mods are less. This happened a lot when the coyote came out in 2011 motortrend got 395whp, a lot of The guys who got 360-380whp would get huge gains with long tubes and a tune.

letā€™s say ford did do that
Added the 92mm TB
Better CNC program another 2-3 percent on airflow
Did an updated gt350 intake manifold
And a more aggressive tune

itā€™s all possible but i can tell you right now they would be bragging about it lol and going look we got another 20hp out of it

My post was a question of what IF an owner did such upgrades possibly; not suggesting Ford has done this.As OP stated, intake and intake manifold have remained same. Also, Iv'e seen nothing saying the larger TB is being used just wondering of possible gains for owner to do these items. For sure Ford would be espousing ALL the gains if they had done it.
