2019+ Spoiler Replacement Gurney Screws

I guess that all the Z06's are for track only because they all come from the factory with a Gurney Flap spoiler.
The car isn't gonna blow up if your Gurney Flap is left on. So if you track your car every once in a while you're gonna take the flap on and off. Just leave it on.

I’m definitely going to track this car as Mid-Ohio is about 1-1/2 hours away. My son and I are scheduled for the May 9th & 10th event. Don’t think that it’s going to happen in May so we’re going to have to reschedule to the next event.

I don't think anybody would argue that having the Gurney flap on will somehow hurt the car. It just doesn't help performance and hurts gas mileage, hence the reason FP advises to take it off when not on the track.

Whether or not the Gurney flap hurt the Z06's performance depends on overall aerodynamics and suspension tuning (spring rates, etc). The spoiler on the Z06 is significantly different than the swing on the 19+ GT350. Also worth noting that the Z06 Gurney is adjustable.

Ultimately, leaving it on when not on the track (or autobahn maybe) is a matter of preference. It's similar to how some folks override self-deploying spoilers (911, Panamera...) and cruise around town with them up. To each his own...

I agree. I didn't buy this car because it got great gas mileage. Also, I drive over 70 mph a lot, so I guess I benefit from it.

For anyone else that receives the wrong size screws.

I just got this from Ford Performance concerning me receiving the short placeholder Swing screws, instead of the longer gurney flap screws with the gurney flap kit.


“Hello Jon,

If you had receive the wrong screws for the Gurney Flap, I would go back to your dealer and let them know that it received the wrong screws with the equipment. They should be able to file a mis-build, make a warranty claim, or some other equivalent. Hope this helps.”

I contacted the dealer, and that’s exactly what they did. They’ll be sending me the correct screws in the next few weeks.

in the Toledo area after talking to Ford Performance and it was like, "Huh they don't list gurney flap screws".....

My Flap was installed and never got the short screws. Don't plan on taking the flap off, but would've liked to have them.

I got the "Short Screws", had to go to the hardware store to procure screws long enough to properly secure the Gurney Flap.
Washers and "Miscellaneous Sundry items"....Definitely looks like an afterthought .

I’ll let you know when I receive them. After my initial call where the parts manager told me he’d order the screws, he called back to ask the current size of my screws, which were 10mm. He said he wasn’t too familiar with the screw sizes since this is the first set he had to order.

He said Ford Performance only had 3-4 sizes of screws in the catalog and he was pretty sure they were supposed to be 1.5 inches. Luckily, someone earlier in this thread sent a pic of their longer screws next to a ruler, and another member sent the correct dimensions. Once I gave that info to the parts guy he was happy. (I love the forum!!)

Hopefully they come in a bag with a part number. If they do I’ll forward it on.
