I just picked up a 2018 complete airbox. I plan on installing a 2018+ intake manifold at some point later this year.

Currently my car has a Ford Performance Pack 1 tune. Could I install the 2018 airbox (CAI) without changing the tune? would there be any benefit to that while I wait for the intake manifold? Would there be any adverse affects?

I wouldn’t do it. Don’t take my word for it. Measure the diameter of the new intake tube near the MAF sensor and compare it to the old intake tube diameter. I’m guessing they are different. That means the MAF transfer function in the old tune will need to be modified to match the new intake.

Cheers,

It's going to need a retune for the MAF size.

Just received the poorly packaged air box and the small vacuum fitting on the elbow was broken off. Is this fitting still used with the 18+ manifold?

i guess I will try and use some epoxy to glue it back on

I would look at ford dealers around you that sell ford performance/Roush parts because they may have take offs for cars that get superchargers installed. I came across mine on facebook from a parts manager who posted 2 of them for sale. $300 shipped and it came with the TB. I sold the TB for 60 so ended up getting the manifold for $240

Just checked, $349. Issue is I am in Canada, so I'd prefer to buy something locally. Shipping, currency exchange, taxes and duties would turn that $349 to close to $600 to me.
