So in my quest to make my PP2 more of a parts bin car, I picked up at GT350 intake mani, tb, and cold air intake for a steal over the winter and it is getting to be about the time to install it. I would like to use the GT500 airbox and I want to know if anyone has done this? To my knowledge the 500 lid will bolt up to the 350 airbox but I'm not sure if that is true. I have priced out the 500 airbox with all hardware and its not too bad in pricing. Can anyone confirm or deny that the 500 lid or airbox will work with the 350 intake tube/airbox?

Thanks,
Dave

**EDIT - Info on all the parts needed can be found HERE in post #28.**

This is something I would also like to know. I'm about to get the power pack 3 installed and the only thing I dont like about it, is the hot air intake.

It definitely looks like the 500 air box should just clamp around the GT350 tube. If anything is different I would think the diameter of the opening in the 500 box might be bigger, which could be sealed with some weather stripping.

Where were you able to price out the GT500 airbox? Thanks.

I have a GT350 intake waiting for when I put on my GT350 manifold. I just ordered the GT500 airbox cover to see if that will fit without too much modification. But if it comes down to it I am going to order the GT500 airbox as well. Cheapest I could find them was on Tasca.

This was discussed on the 2018+ powerpack thread too. If I recall, the gt500 top doesn't match up to the airbox from that kit. Going off of the thread linked, it also isn't a perfect fit for the bullitt airbox. This may be my next mod so I'm curious to see if it makes a difference.

The 2018 power pack airbox has a different shape to account for the engine cover and hood vent. The 350 and 500 are very similar and I'm going to try and make the 500 cover fit with as little modification as possible. But if it doesn't fit right my OCD won't allow it lol.

Well, the 2018+ Powerpack comes with a different top trim than the 15-17 Powerpacks and the OEM GT350 intake.

The top trim comes off regardless for the gt500 top piece. Even so, the bullitt airbox (as discussed in the link earlier) also doesn't match up to the gt500 cover. I'm not positive but I'm pretty sure the bullitt and gt350 airbox assembly are the same.

Hopefully it works out the way you hope. But ya otherwise not worth it. The point of the top lid is to keep air temps down and a bunch of gaps, due to improper fitment, is just counter productive.

I'm also curious how much of a difference it will actually make, as well.

Yeah I'm going to test fit the lid and see how it is. if it doesn't seal right without easy modifications I'm going to get a 500 airbox

Should be here tomorrow according to the tracking number. If it shows up before I leave for work I will be able to fit it up and see if it fits or not. If not I will test fit it on Saturday and report back here.
