Just getting feelers out there. My sales guy told me this morning a 24 just landed.

For those whose has a 17 & driven a 24, is the drive noticeably different? I understand the more tech that the 24 offers (I’m a youngish guy, I like tech)
I'd recommend looking up Savage Geese's video on the new mustang and Throttle House's review as well. If the driving dynamic changes are non issues for you and you have the money then go for it. As for me nothing I've heard from a driving standpoint was a must have change, and there is no purple available.

I am sure you will be happy either way. Just go drive it and see how you like it. Don't listen to the folks hating on it, in time it will grow on most too lol

Scroll through some of the posts on 7G and familiarize yourself with some of the issues that people are having too... may or may not have a bearing on your decision but at least you wouldn't be surprised if you ran into a problem with a 24.

An auto 2024 GT will be significantly quicker than your 17 GT. But so will a 2018 A10 GT. The trans is the difference. Manual to manual they’re not that far apart. The 2024 GT manual does 60-130 mph in 12.3 sec according to Car and Driver, and the 2015 GT manual does 13.3, also according to C&D. The auto 18+ are in the mid 11s, for comparison.

Trim for trimGrip, braking, handling, etc., not much difference. Essentially the same chassis with a few tweaks.

You’d have to drive one to see if the new one warrants upgrading to. Possibly for a 17, not so much for an ā€˜18+ in my opinion.

You know for any S550 owner, this issue is hard one. With my 2020 Mustang GT PP1 car and all the mods I did and not to mention the difference from the payoff on my Mustang would put me almost $40k in debt. I am holding off. I may change my mind but at this moment I am holding off. I definitely wouldn't move forward until Ford Performance starts releasing some calibrations with Power Kits and able to add gears with the ProCal.

I think it will come down to you with how are your finances and how worn out is your current whip. You said a 2017 but not how many miles you got on her.

In 2018 they tested a manual 2018 Mustang GT PP1 car to do it in 12.1.

The auto did it in 11 seconds...

Yeah. That 120 mph A10 GT trap speed seemed to be a ringer/outlier. I never saw another stock A10 go that fast. Mostly in the 116-118 mph range. Which would put the 60-130 split in the mid 11s. But yeah, the A10 GTs are like 50 hp quicker than the M6s.

12.1 and 12.3 are pretty close, close enough, anyway.

15-17 is the KING of Mustangs.
15-17 MT-82 is better than all 18+ manual transmission
15-17 6R80 is stronger than the 10R80
Sleeved engine
better looks.

I had a 15 GT PP, then swtiched to a 21' Mach 1 HP

Night and day difference, different car

But thats with the HP, magneride, cup2s, aero etc.

Go drive it and see for yourself, see if you like it

Trade in on a 17 will be in the 28 range if you are lucky. A 24 GT premium is a 55K car. Do the arithmetic. You have almost 27K to play with to do upgrades to your current car. The 2 local Ford dealers still have the 24's they got in a few weeks ago on the lot. They are not selling well due to a variety of reasons including high interest rates, uninspired styling, and the ipad dash that is polarizing. I'd bet there will be rebates on them by the end of the year unless the strike shuts down production. If I was trading, I'd be looking for a Mach 1 right now.

Your 17 is especially well-suited for boost with an 11:1 CR. Consider boosting it…will make all other cars you’re considering seem slow.
