Nope. Double clutching is for skipping gears also. You don't hit the throttle when up shift skipping. I made a living out of driving heavy duty trucking. I know how it's done.
I too was a trucker for a while.. was just sayin

I went back out to the dealer earlier in the week to purchase my fiancée's Fusion (We got a hell of a deal) and took out a GT with premium package. I loved the leather seats, enjoyed the sound system and great display. The cooled seats was a weird feeling. I can't say Ford got it right (it feels like I wet myself).

That being said, I was able to push the car a bit more on back roads. A few times I felt like I rocked the ship too hard, and was about to flip the damn thing. I truly felt the weight of the car, and relented to use the term 'boaty'. Understandably this is a big car, and that is to be expected. A lot of people have PP, and say it helps this.

So, I mentioned this to the sales person and he basically said it didn't change any of the driving dynamic. I shrugged off his response, as he really didn't seem to know a whole lot on it.

Can those with PP answer this? While I still haven't decided between an EB or GT, I'm definitely quite unsure about PP.
Yes

Then you know exactly what I'm talking about. When I hauled with a 28' dump trailer I always skipped gears when empty and sometimes when loaded. I double clutch the Mustang because it makes things smoother and to me it helps save synchronizers.

I understand but people that haven't driven commercial vehicles may not get that concept as easily.

Those synchros will outlast the engine as long as you use the clutch. No need to double clutch a fully synchronized car.

Coming from a 13' v6, the PP is a no brainer given the price. I was looking for a 16' GT and I refused to get one without it. Very few packages are worth the money (cough "Premium")

I knew a guy that had a dark silver '14 GT with PP, he ended up selling his car because someone paid him more than he paid for it. PP is great for resale

slang for "just buy this one, its as good as it gets!"

but in all seriousness, the PP does make the car feel a little tighter but would really need a good alignment and some lowering springs to make it feel super tight.

I did, too at first. Then it seemed less sarcastic.

Sync 3, heated seats, and the garage door opener were well worth the premium package.
Premium was worth it for me but the garage door opener actually made it less desirable. The visor is a ridiculous place to put the buttons. I mean sometimes the buttons are facing you, sometimes they are on the upper side, sometimes they are over the side window, not to mention how anemic they are. Lots of posts about the range being drastically shorter than other car's or the remotes that came with the opener. I'm going to put the guts of a remote in the overhead panel between the map lights and replace my visor with one from a base to get rid of the useless buttons if they are otherwise the same.

The distance is increased if you put the visor down with the buttons facing the garage.

As I said, it's ridiculous.

Reminds me of the old joke:

A man wants a new suit so he goes to a tailor. The tailor puts him up on the platform surrounded by all those mirrors, takes his measurements, and says “OK, come beck in a week, I'll have the suit ready.”

In a week the man returns to the tailor shop. “Here’s your suit,” says the tailor.

“Well, I’d like to try it on,” says the customer. So he goes in the dressing room, takes his clothes off, and starts putting on the suit. It’s all but impossible to get into the thing! Finally, he has it on, comes out, and gets up on the platform again.

He looks at himself, frowns, and says to the tailor, “This suit is terrible! Look at this! The jacket sleeves are so long they’re flopping! But the shoulders are so narrow I can’t even breathe! The pants legs are baggy! But at the same time, the pants squeeze my hips!” On and on he complains.

“Wait a minute,” says the tailor, interrupting him. “Here’s what you’ll do. You’ll go like this…” And the tailor shows him how to hold in his sleeves, hunch up his shoulders, tuck in the baggy pants with one hand, all at the same time, to “make it fit”.

A few minutes later the man emerges from the shop onto the street. He’s hobbling down the sidewalk, trying to walk while still holding his sleeve, hunching his shoulders, tucking the pants, etc, etc.

Two old ladies waiting for a bus across the street notice him as he struggles along.

“Oh!” says one of the ladies, shaking her head in pity. “Look at that crippled poor man!”

“Yes,” says her companion, also shaking her head. “But doesn’t his suit fit nice!”
