What is the weight difference?Probably not in stock trim. There is a pretty big weight difference.
yea i agree,I think the Z will be much faster. It is faster in a straight line, weighs 100 lbs less, and I believe will be much better handling.
According to this comparison chart from C&D, the Z hit 60 in 4.8 and the 1/4 in 13.4 @ 107. I thought the EB was more like mid 5's to 60 and high 13's in the 1/4 (similar to the 350Z).

Normally I don't like comparing a modded car to a stock car, but in this case I think you make a good point. The turbo Mustang will likely be able to gain quite a bit of power pretty easily, while the Z is probably much closer to the limit, at least in terms of easy power mods. The Mustang also has more room for improvement in terms of suspension. So, it's probably fair to say that the Mustang, while slower stock, may be able to get close with some key mods. That can be both good and bad. Of course it will be tough to hide that extra weight.yea i agree,
but a downpipe with hi flow cat, tune, shocks, and real tires, then all the
rules change. my bet will be ~325whp and 375tq.
at least i hope so! or the R gets to the usa..
beers
If the car and driver lightning lap is worth anything, an 11 v6 mustang ran a 3:12.5 and the 09 370z Nismo ran a 3:12.0. My guess is a EB would beat both around VIR.
http://www.rightfootdown.com/2011/2011-mustang-v6-turns-laps-quicker-any-other-tested-sub-30k-car/So how did the Mustang fare? Well, despite bouncing off the speed limiter for no less than fifteen seconds, the 2011 Mustang V6 lapped around VIR’s Grand West course in 3:12.5, matching the LL1 king, Nissan 350Z Track. There was little doubt the 2011 Mustang V6 would have stolen the crown if it wasn’t for the 114 MPH speed limiter. Remove the limiter (cheap and easily done through a 3rd party tuner) and suddenly Bob’s your uncle. Go ahead – read more directly from the editors at Car and Driver here.
