Buying a mustang soon as the ink dries on my truck sale!

I've driven two rented 2015 V6's and they were fantastic! Going to test drive an EB next but my dealer has a V6 6mt for $24500.

But I can also get a low mileage 11-14 GT for that price... I've driven a rented 2014 V6 recently as well and definitely preferred the 6g ride and interior. I could probably get past all that for the v8 power though...

I'm sure many of you came from a 5g so I would really appreciate some input.

This thread should be locked before the 5th reply. But this choice is about your priorities. If your a straight line go fast guy the 14 is a great drag car. If your into a nicer interior and a car that feels connected more to the road get the EB. You can always throw a few bolt-ons on the EB and get close to GT performance down the road.

Blue is right. People will get emotional here

But you ask opinion.

15 gt, 14 gt, 15 EB, any v6 is my opinion.

I'm hoping that there are deals to be had in September before the 16's come out. Might be able to swing a base GT then.

I live in Houston and most everything is straight lines... not big on modding either. This will be a daily driver so needs to be reliable.

Here is what I have to say, drive both. Remember you are going to be the one paying for it. If your looking for a new look, IRS, and future mods get the 15 eco boost. If you are looking for tons of parts to choose from right now and something with power right out the box get the 14. I traded my 13 Camaro for a 15 mustang, one of the best choices I made in my life. Drive both and see what you think. Let the test drives speak for itself. Good luck and drive on.

I would take a 2014 Mustang GT over a 2015 EB Mustang, I absolutely hate the 2.3 EB engine in the Mustang. Its not that I don't like the idea of the 2.3 EB engine in the s550 I just feel it isn't quite ready for prime-time. I currently own a 2014 FiST in addition to my M3, so its not that I don't like EB cars. The 2.3 EB engine in the 2015 car just seemed not fully baked. The power curver falls flat on its face after 5500rpm. Now I know they did this to keep spool up times fast but I hate cars that don't want to rev to redline effortlessly. The 2.3 EB car I drove, it could have had 87 octane (in fact I bet it did), and the thing just hit a wall at higher revs. I would take a 2015 V6 over a EB car and live with the less creature comforts. This is my opinion and YMMV.

Get the Ecoboost. Tuning and decent gas fix any power curve issues and you're left with a car that is way nicer and much more practical in addition to being pretty fast

I agree with Ecoswag on that one. The test drive of an EB at the dealer does not give you the true power the car can make stock. They fill it with 87 octane right out the door. Best bang for your buck mod on these cars is the tune hands down.

To throw a wrench in the mix I am currently driving a rented 2015 5.0. I think I'm ruined...

Like I mentioned I've driven 2 different V6 cars and really liked them, but this thing is amazing! I will say that I can definitely notice the extra weight up front though. Totally different driving dynamic.

I Really don't like the interior on the 11-14's is part of the problem, and the new styling is miles ahead as well.

I'm going to try my best to swing a '15 GT in September when there are (hopefully) deals to be had, otherwise I'll go with a V6 as suggested. They have a great exhaust note and will be even better with the catback.

Drive both and decide for yourself.

Why I bought a 2015: HID standard, pushbutton start, better shifting transmission, IRS, smoother ride, keyless entry, sync standard.

You have to decide about: I liked the earlier seats a lot better. I didn't mind the earlier cheaper interior. Some people are bothered by the driveline shunt in the newer IRS cars. It doesn't bother me.

Personally I have to have the V8. But that's just me.

That's why I brought it up in the first place. I think I'd rather have the '14 V8 than the '15 V6
