Living in Metro-Detroit, I don't a massive snow dump photo like some others, but I can say the following about my current winter setup. I've got 255/40-R19 Conti VikingContact 7's on my stock GT/CS Rims (or Wheels, whatever floats your boat).
We had a random dumping of about 8+ inches the first week of March, and I have been very pleased with the performance of these tires, more so in deep snow. The tires have worn pretty evenly (granted they have not really worn down at all yet since I've had them) in the 1 1/2 years I've been using them, or maybe its 2 yrs now. My only real regret and this is probably more so because of how sporadic snow fall has been, and that's opting for the full on Nordic Winters vs some Performance Winter tires.
Independent testing (if I remember correctly) had it as a match against Michelin's X-Ice Snow, if not beating it in mostly everything aside from standing water/wet testing.

Where did you buy the wheels from?

I went ahead and bought the 19x9 performance pack 1 wheels with 245/45 Michelin X-Ice Snow, the tire rack guy said they did not have a lot of the PP1 wheels left so went ahead and got them now, tire rack does not offer the Nokian winter tires, so went with Michelins over the blizzaks this time, thanks for the advice on sizes and everything!

I'll add that Pirelli Sottozero 3 tires on 255-40-R19 are another great option for us! Very quiet as well. I have them on my 2016 GT/CS wheels and daily drive my convertible through Colorado snow. Never had had an issue. 🍻

Thought on it, but I also read horror stories with the Pirelli in winter, so idk I also wish America had more options for summer tires too but maybe I'm weird 🤔

I think it really depends with the Italians LOL - I have the Pirelli Sottozero 3s on the mustang and really like them BUT I had a Mercedes CLS63 AMG with the Sottozero 2s on and those tires were not great at all. Slid all over the place and just did not have a whole lot of traction in an inch or two of snow. Really struggled to grip.

I always thought it was funny because a big ol benz struggled in the snow meanwhile the pony just galloped along with no issue. 🤣 I would only recommend the 3s as they have been great on the mustang driving through snowy mountains and city streets.
