The s550 platform is payed for what Ford will do is what they did to the Taurus keep building the same thing year after year with no changes except color and let disinterest kill it.

As a previous classic Ranchero owner, I'd buy a modern AWD version in a heartbeat. It would do the vast majority of the truck things I need to do.
