10 speed vs. 6 speed

I'm actually amazed people on here are still arguing over this. A manual is incredible to drive and feel, but it cannot be compared to the 10 speed, in any way. You compare a stock 18+ GT 6 speed vs a 10 speed GT it'll win in EVERY scenario. That should be the end of the discussion. Sure you can tune a 6 speed to beat a 10 speed but you're changing the playing field. Money for money every time the 10 speed will win.

Yeah the kids these days are missing out on the experience of downshifting hard and feeling the rear end prep for launch
If using the paddles the A10 can approximate the experience but it's just not the same
That being said I really do love my A10

Some days I yearn for a manual but most days I do not. The downshifts are what I like most about a manual, but I’m getting lazy in my older age . Bad knees are also not conducive to enjoying a manual

Sure you can tune a 6 speed to beat a 10 speed

Ford Performance did that with the GT350... but we have to stay on the track... not the drag strip.

Which is more fun to you, track or strip?

I'll take the GT350 with Chewbacca in the passenger's seat providing weight balance.
The GT folks with their A10's would be able to look in their rear view mirror at the end of the dragstrip and see the sinister looking Shelby front end... it is a mean looking front end; at least we got that!

Meet us at the track, and you will be disappointed… the back of our cars look pretty much the same as yours.

If not for the 6speed manual I would not own the car, lots of alternatives across the range of cars, trucks, SUVs…the 6speed manual V8 combination sets the Mustang GT apart from others.

For the 2021 model year (not sure if anything changed since then) red line in 3rd would give you about 89 mph.

Seemed like my 2021 Mach 1 was faster than that. But it banged shifts so fast I didn't know 3rd to 4th. Much less I had no time to look down at anything going that fast. WOT was a blast on the M1 A10. Now I am adjusting to a DC 8 speed. I do have a HUD now, lol.

Not even flooring it (unless you’re on the highway). 1/2 throttle and I’m flying before I even realize it around town. These cars want to get to 60 in a hurry.

This I find hard to believe, growing up we had Foxbodys and I don't remember ANY auto Fox out running a manual Fox... not once.

Lidio from Alternative Auto ran an AOD in his beige fox body. Vortech car. Routinely spanked stick cars with same mods.
