Thanks for the insight Brian. I guess I will wait to hear when 2015 ordering will end to make a decision.
What kinds of upgrades or added features do you guys think we could realistically see for MY2016? Just new color options at most?
Thanks Brian. Might be a stupid question but by switchover in June/July I assume you are talking about retooling for next model year production? I thought the current S197 production cycle is timed for deliveries in late summer?
If Job 1 for the 2015 is currently at August 11, why are we all...
I am in sort of the same boat and also leaning towards the 15 (or waiting for the 16). Things will only get cheaper (and more reliable) afterall.
Anyway congrats on the order. You really can't go wrong either way.
Let me first say that I understand that "TBD" is the answer to this but I am looking for any good educated guesses as to how long you think the 2015 Mustang model year will run given that we will likely not see any on the road until October and close to winter.
Does the 2015 MY get shortened...
i'm real confused what i'm looking at with that teaser from Ford. i guess this won't just be a regular S550 convertible if they are covering it up?
Good pics. A few that I noticed and wanted to get a better look at;
The rendering of the white car...Please make the GT350's nose look like that. Close off the ugly fog openings and give it a different grille design, and I prefer these headlights.
Also looks like Ford was still toying with...
There's always some carryover. It doesn't make any financial sense to reinvent the wheel on every single part. When talking about whether it is a new platform, motors don't count. In fact, if it did, indications of the Trinity not fitting (without mods) actually help prove that it is a new...
I only watched the snippet after 58 mins. Those guys commenting on the cover rendering being "ungainly" and the actual car being better in many areas.... have those guys actually seen the car? I heard one of them is from Motor Trend, not sure who the others are.
After the C&D shenanigans I'm...
I think all the renders have done a service to Ford. Initially didn't love it myself but I have already warmed to it and that's saying a lot already without seeing the actual car. The reactions I've seen seem to be the same.... a lot less "Fusion coupe" comments now and people are beginning...
Much sleeker and more of a redesign than the C and D one. Not looking for a warmed over S197 which is what I see when looking at this view..
Compared to-
Blegh to the Mystichrome... please nothing like that again. Looked like a bad pair of 80's sunglasses.
I would like to see some more special colors added tho... how about an entire line of new ones like the "frozen" ones from BMW. :headbang:
Yep and the Eco 4 will be nothing like the SVO. Modern day equivalent would be more like 3.5 EB if they ever slapped it into the Mustang, as it could be massaged to rival the GT in torque/power. I could and would like to see this happen in the future. Maybe towards the end of the S550 lifespan.
Damn! You guys must have some serious connex....
Oh and yea I see that said in a lot of places... Ford has confirmed it many times already in different interviews by execs.
Call me ignorant but really I never knew safety was priority one for a pony car. The whole idea of fitting that much power into a small package comes with costs (safety being one of them) and I think people assume the risk. Are they really designing Mustangs with safety as priority #1 instead...
THis one is cool.... looks like it could be just that underneath. Thing is, if we're going to use the GT350's wheels and hood etc, I'd love to see you try to incorporate the scoops too.
