Hi all,

Hope this finds you and your cars well!

I have Steeda's dual rate springs and their competition sway bars. When pushing the car hard through corners, I notice some understeer, which I guess is not a surprise given the weight of the front of the car.

I have the sway bars set up in a neutral/middle position/hole front and rear. Contacted Steeda about it and they recommended setting the front bar to the 2nd softest setting. Some internet/YT research recommends stiffening the rear by one hole, instead of softening the front.

What say you?

Thank you!

I would try stiffening the rear first if you drive mainly on the street, If you track it it would be a toss up, the good thing is you can experiment. For me the rear is easier to get to for adjustment.

Try both and see which works best for you.

What is your camber ? At a min set it at 1.5. Then start playing with your sway bar settings

A little more description would help. When it's pushing, are you on the brakes, steady speed/steady input, accelerating?

It could be as simple as getting on the brakes later and harder to set the front end.

I’d also soften the front to give back some grip as steeda recommends. Stiffening the rear is an option but generally I’d soften the front first.

Whats your tire situation? Sizes and type?

Thank you all for your quick responses!

I run 305s front and 315s or 305s rear, depending on brand, on Apex wheels. Front negative camber is currently -1.8 but will go to -3 now since I recently corded a brand new Trofeo RS front driver side tire on the outside in one and a half days, while the inside of the tire showed only moderate wear.

I trail break and feel the understeer when coasting through the turn or maintenance throttling mid-turn.

If you are cording the outside of the tire with a 1.8deg Camber then you have too much toe in. Or you are really hitting the turns hard all the time. Get the alignment done correct ( 1.5 deg Camber with 0 deg toe.) Then start playing with the swaybars. This is what I have mine set up. FP track springs, struts and shocks. STEEDA adj sway bars front and rear. I also have the Steeda end links and bumpsteer correction. Now for the fine tuning. Street ront Camber is set at 1.5 deg and toe at 0 deg. and Rear is 1.9 deg Camber and toe at .10 per side. With the front sway bar set at #3 from the end (stiff) and the rear at the stiffest setting. Track set up is front 2.5 -3.0 deg and 0 deg toe rear is the same as the street set up,e
with the sway bars left alone. This gives me a little rear kick out on the exit of the turns. This is my set up. You need to play with the settings for your personal likes.
