Not sure where you saw the recommendation to avoid the 3:73's. I daily driver my PP car in mixed city interstate and local roads, but have taken several longer highway trips. My last one was about 300 miles round trip with 4 full size adults, a/c on, with about 30 miles of downtown driving in...
I've delt with Northside, Jordan, and Bluebonnet. I was not pleased by the way Northside does business. Both Jordan and Bluebonnet were great. I ended up using Bluebonnet. Very professional and customer focused. I would recommend either Bluebonnet or Jordan.
I don't know, as I said previously, I've not encountered any abnormal wear on mine. My 12 had 26k miles on them, which included about 20 passes down the drag strip. They lasted two full winters, daily driven, parked outside year round. When I sold the car, they had no visible sidewall wear...
This is my 4th winter on the pirelli summers ... 2 winters on my 12 Brembo gt, 2 on my 15 PP gt. Been thru a couple of ice storms with no problems. Course, the winters in south Texas are not exactly what I would call harsh. Even still, I've had zero problems so far.
Totally agree.
The h-pipe should give a deeper more muscle car sound, whereas the x-pipe should give a higher race care sound. I will add that while the x is higher pitched than the h, it is by no means high pitched. It is just not quite as deep as the h.
Well, it will definitely fill the volume void. I personally love it. I really like that the volume can be modulated with the throttle. It isn't obnoxious during idle and normal acceleration, but as soon as you punch it .. wake up!
There is no real power gain from any exhaust upgrade until you add in long tube headers. The only perceived gains I felt can be attributed to the added volume the mid pipe and axle back.
I had them on my 12 GT. I loved the sound from the outside, which was a deep muscle care tone. However, they did have a pretty significant drone. It didn't bother me personally, but it was quite annoying whenever I had passengers. They are a great mod for the price if you can deal with the...
I think you may be on to something here. I'm sure the Camaro will sell just fine, just as the Mustang is doing. The way I see it so far, it appears that Ford is marketing the Mustang to a much broader market, where as Chevy is targeting the smaller, performance audience.
Wow, this Mustang vs Chevy rivalry runs deeper than I thought ... it's come down to viewer counts on a forum. So, since cam6 has more viewers than m6g, does it weigh more?
In all fairness, when I took delivery of my S550 last November, I paid $35,878 for my GT Premium PP. MSRP was $39,420. The smart shopper (x-plan for me at that time) can get the price down. Now, I've never shopped GM, so I don't know if the same can be done there.
Too loud? Nah. Volume is totally manageable with the throttle. The cold start will be pretty loud, but that goes for just about every aftermarket system. Unless you are going full throttle thru the hood, I wouldn't consider them too loud with normal driving. Best of luck to you finding...
