It seems everyone starts to lose torque around 5500, either it's a fueling issue at higher RPMs with the pump being insufficient at that flow rate, or possibly an issue with something in the powertrain operating at higher power in the higher RPM range? Anyway, some insight from one of these companies would be awesome.[/QUOTE I totally agree. Torque spike is fun but I'd like it throughout the rev range. Then again I'm pretty happy with just the DP and tune ATM. So I'm sure this would more and suffice.

What DP are you running? Stock exhaust??

I almost wonder if it has to do with the HPFP not flowing enough volume at higher rpms. I had heard that Ford has almost maxed out the system from the factory, but haven't seen enough info to know if it's true or not.

Full-Race was working with Ford on it and Luvernois has said they have something in the works for fuel.

Testing of the engine is moving along nicely. Just so you all know, this engine is still using the stock head with stock ports, stock cams, stock valves and springs. We just dropped in a set of custom forged pistons and rods so we didn't have to worry about the strength of the stock parts. Headwork will be tested separately. I see a lot of potential for making more power with head work and cams. The lift of the stock cams is just .290" exh and .310" intake.

Have you guys looked at the mazda speed 3 platform for inspiration for the HPFP situation? I see that companies were able to upgrade the internals on the mazda HPFP, and since they are both cam driven, I don't see why the same can't be done on the Ford pump. I'm guessing the injectors might be an issue as well? Everyone starts losing power at 5500 RPM, and even in this boosted application it is still happening. I'm guessing this is because while the injectors have enough capacity to inject at these levels, it just can't flow whatever the level of fuel that is needed. Can you give some insight? Because I'm about ready to go take apart my HPFP to see the size of the internals and see if the mazda stuff will fit.

Didn't I read something from MAP saying they thought that the drop in power at 5500 rpm was a tuning problem that they, MAP, was trying to work out?
