Got into the car today and noticed some brake fluid drips under the clutch pedal. I drove it yesterday with no issues. It sort of seems like an open/shut case of ‘just replace it’. Just poking around to see if anyone’s seen or heard about this happening. Thanks!

That sucks. I've not heard of one of those failing yet. Make sure it's not the line. I know they can leak at the reservoir. Maybe leaking up top and running down the line?

Worst part is you might not be able to buy a replacement without also replacing the pedal assembly. That's what I ran into on my 2015 Ecoboost. I got lucky and found an obsolete master at a local dealer so I didn't have to replace the pedal.

It’s not the line coming off the reservoir. I know what you’re talking about as that was a hot topic a few years back.
There’s still good feel in the clutch pedal and it’s maybe 2 drops a day. Regardless, it’s goin to the shop Monday. Also curious if anyone has any input of upgrades to do “while we’re in there”.

It's a simple fix with a couple tools. I did mine a month ago. No need for new pedals. Hardest part is finding the current part, as there seems to be few out there. Plenty of -D models available, few -E.

But the new one won't look a ton different than that. It took me all of an hour to do, and that was mostly because I was being way too careful, and I don't have tiny hands.

Since you will have to either plug your brake reservoir, or drain it all, I'd bleed the brakes right away and get fresh fluid in there.

I see there are a lot of views for this thread. Figure I’d bump it with some closure.

Had my local speed shop replace the master cylinder and throw in a Steeda steel braided clutch line. The clutch feels much more deliberate and solid with the new line. I love it!

Interestingly enough, I noticed since the bleed, the brake engagement is before the brake light switch. Looked under the dash and couldn’t see an adjustment. The pedal feels great but now I gotta get on the brakes a little harder than normal to let traffic behind me know I’m braking. Hoping it’ll sort itself out after some more stopping evolutions.

Get out there and drive it!

I just did the braided line and this reservoir on my 2012 GT. Very cool mod. I went to grab this link and make a recommendation for peeps changing out the line, and noticed it doesn't fit on everything. No idea why (other than maybe the mounting bracket), but too bad. Very cool part.
