From memory I checked a Ford mechanic guys GT Mustang (6 speed) that is a couple years old and his was all the the way on. And it seemed if I remember right his reservoir was just a little different looking. But can't remember if taller/rounder. But yesterday I'd asked the dealership owners son if he checked his on his new 2017 California Special GT Mustang (6 speed) and he said his was all the way on. So assume the regular Mustangs its all the way on. So it might be they changed the the reservoir style on the Shelbys but didn't change the line to a longer one to compensate for a shorter distance.
Thee is no slack on mine and I think that is part of the problem

Very little slack here as well. I was able to push it just a little bit further on. No evidence of leaking here though - early 2016 build (chassis 703).

Mine was off 1/4-1/2 inch or so. Hard to push back on due to lack of slack.

No leaking. 2017 GT350 picked up last November.

I can also report a loose line. Mine backed off enough to expose the barb closest to the bottle. There was the just the slightest amount of a weep; but, after track time, that's not surprising. I installed a small hose clamp, which will hopefully stop this issue.

Yes, the line should be about 1/2 inch longer.

Thanks for the heads-up OP!

July '17 build here. Mine is secure and dry, but nearly a quarter inch from being fully seated. The line is also too short/tight.

Took a look at mine. Was backed about 1/2 inch with BF dripping at slightest touch. I seated it and ziptied it.

A solution to what, exactly? Has one actually fallen off?

Just checked my 17R this weekend. 1100 mi. See photo. As reported by many others, it was not fully engaged. Line was very rigid when I checked it and it would not move. I was afraid to pull any harder that it might come off the other end. I will note the car was totally cold in the garage.

Then yesterday I had my first track day with this car at AMP. Checked it again when I arrived. The car had just been driven an hour. The line was noticeably more compliant/flexible when warm and with a push it went on readily with a click. My conclusion is the line is about an inch too short.

Ok so obviously on most if not all of the Shelby GT350's the line is to short and therefore not all the way on. I checked two GT Mustangs and there reservoir is made a bit different (6 speeds) and the line was all the way on. So since no one has reported a line coming off does that not mean Ford has no obligation to doing a recall (I see a safety issue here) or at least a tsb under warranty to to make a longer line and replace them all. Or is there some way this can be escalated to get Fords attention before something possibly bad could happen.
