Back to my comment on the 1970 inspiration....

Below is a pic of the Buick Avista concept from a few years back, an Alpha chassis car that never was. Still is a looker, and it wouldn't take much tweaking on the front end and elsewhere to be a modernized '70. Finish up the rear with the simple round lights and there it is.

I’m very stoked to hear about a 7th gen Camaro being on Alpha II and RWD. I love my 6th gen ZL1 (2021) so I’m especially excited to hear what the next ZL1 becomes. I’d be very curious to see the new design inspired by the 3rd gen IROC-Z, given my first car was an 87 Z28. But a 1970 inspired rear end would be awesome.

I’m glad GM didn’t rush to jump on the Camaro EV or SUV bandwagon, that would have been a disaster, as muscle car owners don’t want EVs.

I hope they don’t glue an iPad to the dash and call it a day like the Mustang. The new Charger is somewhat guilty of this but it is integrated a little better than the Mustang. Keep design important in the interior!
I’m a muscle car owner. I own two EVs. :muscle:

Different jobs, different tools.

The Mustang has always solved that problem. But the Camaro has not.

unless you’re commenting on some similarities between the s650 and the gen 6 Camaro. LOL
Exactly! lol

New Mustang looks like a Camaro but hey... all good.

Im excited about the competition!

I wouldnt mind a mild Hybrid. But I can't go full microwave, you never go full microwave.
I don’t even want a hybrid. Adds weight and complexity. More things to potentially go wrong down the line.

Evs and Hybrids scare me. I don't like all the battery's strapped under my ass. Mustangs get crashed all the time without the fire hazard. This one was all over the news when our governor helped with the rescue. It caught fire again a week later in our yard. Bobs burger voice actors car.

agreed. There are some benefits to send, but I’m baffled as to how they are even legal without a strict infrastructure for safety and reclamation. It’s like all the safety regs went out the window in order to put these on the mass market.

Saw the Avista at the Toronto auto show one year. It was gorgeous and easily would have been a candidate for my garage had they brought a version of it to market.

I don't like this type of thing from auto makers. Make up your mind, you are either sunsetting the model or your not. Plus I agree with everyone regarding the interior visibility factor- I have a hard enough time now keeping track of all the idiots staring down at their phones.

GM has just approved the 7th gen Camaro, so it looks like the pony car war is back on.

I saw a drawing of a modernized 80’s Camaro a few years back. It was an IROC version. I thought it looked pretty good. They’ve burned out the 67-69 style, time to go in another direction.

No way. Someone in the GM marketing department is asleep. The Mustang has out sold the Camaro, 2:1. With the GT starting around $50K, Mustang sales are tanking. A reboot of the Pacer X would out sell a Camaro at this point.

most auto design trends are taking new spins in 80s motifs right now. I’d expect the Camaro to follow suit.
