Actually using a metal panel epoxy filler, time consuming with block sanding and multiple applications. Should turn out ok. Only saving grace here is that the new stripes will go right over the work, kinda a cheat code.

I opted for the AC exact R replica wing, so exposed carbon. I may actually shoot it with some gloss black down the road.

A few pics of the work:

That looks great. Hoping to do this on mine when the stock spoiler eventually gives way (it's already starting)

@FISH22 did you go to a Ford dealership for the replacement decklid stripes?

I almost went with the Ford stripes, about $300. Actually found a place recommended by other Shelby owners: Qspek Vinyl. 1/3 the price of the Ford stripes and I gotta say, they seem to be an exact match to Guardsman Blue. If I botch the application, I’ll feel much better compared to the expensive Ford stripes.

Are the Qspec stripes a little longer to avoid the gaps at each end with factory installed?

They offer the longer option, I went with the OEM length to be uniform with the rest of the car.

Super impressed with the company. Packaging and quality of the material is fantastic.

Gave him the day off to break in new rubber for his stablemate.

Even in the 50ish temps we're getting around Chicagoland today, the OE Supercorsa's were hockey pucks. Went with Rosso IV's (non-Corsa) because I'm a huge poser.

Lots of progress on the AC R wing. More filling on the trunk, primer, wet sanding, couple coats of paint, more wet sending, then lots of polishing with the orbital to make a nice slick surface for the vinyl to adhere to.

Will apply the stripes after a work trip next week.

@FISH22 You told me “negative” and you’re an 80% kinda guy…and yet that looks amazing. Plus the satisfaction of doing it yourself. Especially for something the stripes will cover anyways. Nice work bro, well done.

Yeah, that’s a hell of an 80%.

Finally some shots in the light after finishing up some more work. On top of the seat delete and R splitter, just finished FP springs and Steeda IRS sleeves and bushing supports. Pulling her back in soon to start the AC R wing. More to follow.

@FISH22 you should have (and still can) start your own thread on this car. Very cool tasteful mods and well done.

So it looks like the only parts of the trunk you sanded, primed and painted will be covered by the vinyl? Smart and it's looking good.
