Dark Horse SC, who's adding one, who's replacing with one, what will it do to GT500 values?

The car from the side looks amazing. Great lines. Don’t love the teal but you can obviously opt out of that part of the package.

Where this car lacks drastically is the front and rear looks. They just don’t marry up with each other or bring the car together in any way. Like 3 separate cars all mashed together. It’s like some designer just struggled to find a way to make it look different so they threw some stuff at the wall to see what sticks. Also the interior just doesn’t look great either. Lacks creativity and originality.

You can tell by the atmosphere of the marketing push as well that Ford kind of knows its lack luster and they’re pumping it up at every corner. Kind of telling
I think you’re spot on.

Look back at the info that was presented when the GT500 was released. They had a cutaway car, a prototype test car, CFD models, sections of the front coolers, etc.

All we have for this car so far is a background graphic at the reveal saying its for a “new diverse and young customer base”.

Not saying its not a good car, but the marketing strategy is night and day.

Trusted sources (Vorshlag) indicate brake by wire is a huge improvement on track with the darkhorse versus the M1. I'm guessing the same will be true with the DH SC versus GT500.
Wow. Frankly I find this shocking. What was the improvement?

Interesting comment. You realize your car is basically the same “pig”. Like the styling or not the car will be a monster on a track or the street no different then the previous 500.

You can put lipstick on a pig, but at the end of the day, it's still a pig.

I don't have a S650.

Raiti is here in Chicago for the Auto Show and did a video on the DHSC

I think the front CF needs to be painted. I love the look of CF, but it's just too much dark up front. The painted CF looks fantastic.

I've come around on this car. I really want to see weight. One thing is for sure, those Shelby American cars about to lose a lot of value when Ford announces price.

If Raiti is indeed correct, Ford will be offering the painted CF as an option, which would be cool. I don’t mind the exposed CF but I think I’d rather have it painted as well.

This is the car they were showing at the Rolex 24. I have to imagine if it's painted here, it's getting the option to paint. This looks really good.

I agree, that looks really good. The car in general looks really good in Race Red too

That front view is almost tolerable. If the center grille textures would all match the outer openings, I'd be on board.

But I don't think the rear will ever appeal to me. Just too much wrong with it from a design standpoint....

The rear end has grown on me. It’s an homage to the 67/68, just a little more pronounced. The ducktail spoiler helps with the visual cues IMO.

I can understand the attempt if that was the intent, but it's a big swing and a miss to me.

It's terrible. Especially the lower black plastic bits and diffuser. Could it have been more blocky? What are they hiding in there? And the exhaust tips look like something GM would do on a Suburban.

The GT500 was a slam dunk from any angle.

The taillights and panel were the hint to 67/68 on all S650’s is my understanding. The diffuser is different for sure, I’d be curious how it actually looks in person. Pictures don’t always do cars justice, though it does help if they photograph well. If the performance (and price) are there, I can deal with some visual stuff that isn’t necessarily my cup of tea. Overall, I do like the look of the car. Ford needs to show us some numbers now.

My sales guy and his general manager went to the opening night of the Auto Show (it’s a black tie charity event at the actual show a night or two before it opens to the public), I need to touch base with them and see if they took some pics. Will pass along if I get anything from them.
