This has been a problem with BMW recalls as well, especially on older cars where the clips and fasteners are much more likely to break. The problem is the bulletin does not list those parts as required, or even mention them at all. You have to dig through repair instructions to find mention of “replace as needed”. The bulletin will (at least for BMW) state “other small parts and one time use parts”, that you are expected to only bill as needed. Parts dept only reads the bulletin parts list so only orders the parts printed in the bulletin.I always find it interesting that they never seem to have enough (or any) clips, pushpins, etc. when those are some of the cheapest pieces you’ll find on these cars. Shortly after I got my car, I lost one of the battery cover retainer pins. Went to my dealer parts department to buy one, didn’t have any in stock. Ended up ordering a handful from Tasca and had them quicker than my dealer would’ve had them![]()
