"Ford is recalling 38,005 Mustangs due to concerns about the brake pedal bracket assembly. This affects 2020 models with an automatic transmission. The concern is that under hard braking, the brake pedal bracket may fracture and not work properly, increasing the risk of an accident. "

I do not believe that the GT500 is involved in this recall but I could be wrong.

On the Ford Owner website Recall page (https://owner.ford.com/tools/account/maintenance/recalls.html), I entered several 2020 Mustang 10 speed Auto transmission VIN's to check for the recall and they all came up needing it. I then entered my GT500 VIN along with a couple of others including CFTP models and they came up NOT needing the recall. Not sure how accurate this is but thought I would mention it.

I guess time will tell as they are sending out notices to the owners that are affected by they recall.

Go to the Main page and look at NEWS. I did type in my Vin and nothing came up yet, but Ford has to contact dealers with the information.

Chris and Mark: I will be very surprised if we all don't get notice of the recall. I say that because I'm guessing that the brake pedals on the automatic vehicles are all the same and apparently, that's where the structrual integrity is lacking. I haven't looked at the pedal yet but it would seem like an easy replacement although I've certainly been wrong many times before.

Again it adds to the shit show that all us 1st builds have been through.

Earl, you beat me to it taking the photo. I talked to Ford Performance this morning and Anthony told me as far as he knows right now, the GT500, at least mine which was built one day after yours, is not affected by the recall. He said they may update the recall to include more cars but all he sees right now are Mustangs built during the recall period time with A10 transmissions that are affected.

Personally I think our GT500's will be affected even though they don't show that they are right now as I doubt there is a different bracket for the A10 transmission and our transmission. The reason the manual cars are not affected is the bracket for those cars are completely different because it also supports the clutch pedal and it is a much larger bracket so probably has more strength.

I wonder if previous versions were[?] i.e., just a fuck up with production for MY20 or some change to the design from previous years. I have a '19 so not part of this (for the heck of it, I even checked my Ford Owner page, no recalls as of 09/28 :) )
