During cold start, the PCM logic pushes the throttle blade open which requires the timing to be retarded far into the negatives to heat up the exhaust and light off the cats. In order to reduce the noise, we used to reduce the amount it was allowed to retard timing because that's all we had access to do. However, with PCMTec you have access to auF24202, which is the threshold of cat temp to exit CSER set at 650 deg F stock, and auF24298, which is the threshold of cat temp for high idle set at 900 deg F stock.

Does your GT have active e
Now the question begs. Should I just pull this exhaust off and get a new system and sell this one? If so which system would you guys recommend that sounds good, good performance but not obnoxiously loud. Planning on supercharger next summer. Thanks!
Why not just go back to a stock set up with the active exhaust? My other thought is why borrow trouble with the neighbors and HOA. Sure, you can take a stand, but is it worth it all.

Anyone ever heard of the first amendment? If burning our flag is freedom of speech, then so are our loud pipes. I also ride motorcycles (Harley Davidsons) and have been listening to these whiney AH's for years. Run your car as mild as possible until you are out of the neighborhood and then let it buck. (F) them! If you have a garage park inside for morning startups, if not build one. I had people tell me that when they heard my bike leave at 6:00AM they knew it was time for them to get up and get ready for work.

And yes, it is worth the fight. Stand your ground as I have for the last fifty years.

Buy another car for work as a winter beater and just use your Mustang for fun. I have two Mustangs one is a V6 and the other is my 2015 PP V8.

I know someone with the AWE Touring catback matched with long tube catted headers. It's still pretty loud with the headers, but it's a clear step down in volume from Corsa Extreme or Borla Atak with headers. It's not cheap but maybe you could get a decent amount for the Corsa since they're pretty popular.

By the time you spend $2500. bucks on another exhaust system not to mention the time to get it installed you could put that money on a good winter beater and not give up what you already have and love. You must have bought the Mustang for the sound and performance, so don't give it up, just outsmart the whiney little Karen. Buy the beater then hand paint it some really obnoxious paint scheme. Have some fun with it. Maybe some glow in the dark lime green.

Name it the KARENMOBILE. Get a caricature of her painted on the trunk lid. Freedom of expression. park it right in front of your house.

Any catback with long tubes will be dumb loud. Active exhaust will help a little. A resonator will help a little.

May need to combine a few things here.

Don’t stand your ground on this, because if it escalates at all to any type of court you’ll lose instantly. They can do all sorts of things then, potentially even make you go back to fully factory exhaust which you said you don’t have.

If you get rid of the x pipe and put in a muffler it will be much better, or you can get a set of active rear mufflers. On wide open they’ll sound the same as what you have, but when closed they’ll be nice and quiet. It’s a relatively easy install and there are many cheap valve controllers you can buy to make it work with minimal headache.

This is a bad idea any car you get for $2500 is gonna be a POS

Also a there’s no precedent that an exhaust is a first amendment protected thing. You’ll lose instantly if you try to go that route and likely end up paying more.
The sound isn’t giving him any performance anyway, just use a valves exhaust and he’s gonna be good.

Easy answer is buy an exhaust that sounds good so you get less complaints. XD

I've never met anyone in person that thinks Corsa sounds good, just internet people. It's like a running joke at local gatherings that if a Mustang is loud and sounds like crap, it must be Corsa.

I associate Corsa and RTR with "the kids in high school that clapped out their Civic with Pepboys parts, fat cans and cut springs, but now have a better paying jobs."
