2022 ecoboost, ever since taking off the door to upgrade the speakers there’s a very loud rattling (like a big loose piece of plastic or metal) with any movement at all of the car, located behind the handle on the inside of the drivers side door. When I pull open and open the door and bang on the door it doesn’t rattle at all. I’ve already taken it apart many times and can’t find any loose pieces, have put foam strips everywhere without help. What else can I try? It’s sooo loud.

Have you looked for the noise with the door latched?

It's really not that hard. I've always used a large screwdriver and flipped the door latch to the closed position. Anything about the size of the striker will work
Makes the door think it's latched. Lift the outside handle and flip the latch open to reverse the process.

Could be the vapor barrier. They are held in by a tar-like substance. If they aren’t glued down they can flap around with any movement by the speaker. If it is the vapor barriers a heat gun or hot hair dryer should soften the adhesive enough to reapply. You could also add sound deadener to them like I did. Also check that wire bundle that crosses over the large barrier piece.

Ah thanks y’all! Well apparently it’s not the latch. The rattle is actually only when the window is all the way up and dropping it a touch removes the rattle. Guess I gotta dig deeper in the door

I have the exact same rattle. Plan to remove the door panel and insert window AC sponge filter material to kill the rattle. Just procasternating.
