I wished they would have picked the SVT name instead of Ford Racing.
I think the Ford Racing banner really underscores that they’re serious about racing to win, not just to dip their toes back in. If that last sentence in the paragraph I posted above is really true, the 8G Mustang could end up being really cool and a whole new platform, much like S550 was.

SVT would be a cool throwback for sure, but I’m not sure I care what they call it if there is some true trickle down to the mass production cars in the future.

Didn't ford have to team up with Shelby the first time they were serious about racing? Maybe they will team up again as Ford Racing and Shelby.

They work with Multimatic quite a bit on the racing side. A few others as well. I don’t see them working with Shelby American on the racing side, I don’t even think Shelby is equipped to do that anymore.

Shelby is an aesthetics company not a race company anymore. Shelby makes the best looking wide body kit, in my opinion. Multimatic is Ford's racing partner.

I like to disassemble things.
This paragraph, in particular the last sentence, really caught my eye

@Epiphany does your guru have any cool insights here that can be shared?

We shall see.

I suspect it will be either the next Predator based Mustang and/or Dark Horse Boss that gets announced in January.

I'd like to see the drag program come back with an aluminum block 7.3 engine that trickles its way into a street Boss 429, especially since we're now hearing about Dodge and a new 426 Hemi.

And its about time we saw a Coyote based Braptor that gets 11 mpg and belches additional carbon when the navigation detects that the vehicle has entered California.

Eh, Ford Motorsports was better, I got into Ford tuning just as they changed from Motorsports to Racing.

I really fail to see how the name change has any actual impact on anything. Their statement about it was saying thing they ALREADY DO, so how does the rebrand impact anything at all?

To me both Motorsports and Performance are better names than Racing as they more imply things you also want outside of racing like just an exciting drive, style, and driver engagement. You don't have to be "racing" to enjoy and appreciate those things.

If I'm taking my car down a nice, fun twisty back road I'm not "racing" but I'm definitely enjoying the "Performance" of my car.

I don’t think the rebrand will have a ton of impact on the production cars (although they dropped that nugget about using LeMans and other race learnings for the next Mustang). I think it’s more to align that they’re back into racing in multiple formats/circuits and for the long haul.

They just changed all their logos last year to the updated design/fonts. Not sure what changed in their focus group sessions.

I liked the Ford Performance branding, personally, and I have Ford Performance branded stuff. I don't think I'll buy any Ford Racing stuff.

YAWN. . 🥱. The marketing department is using the retirees stuff again.
Give it 5 years and it’ll go back to FP again. Ford racing should be the pro competition support team and FP should be for the performance oriented street vehicles.
