Bought my car with a stock resonator and a pypes muffler delete . Drove from Florida to NY in 2 days. After leaving NC to finish my trip I couldnt stand it anymore. Its loud but just didn't have the tone I wanted. Honestly it sounded like a v6 with an exhaust leak. Within 2 months I ordered a borla s type cat back and I love it. I just heard the car for the first time in a video recorded by my nephew , and even included shitty audio quality over text, its still amazing.

I have the Mbrp race series cat back, with h pipe. Personally love the sound. Video is my old car, but I’ve used this exhaust on both of my GTs. If you catch it on a deal, under $1000.
Typically, your x pipe sound is more raspy and h pipe is deeper.

Can try doing an H pipe to help with the rasp. Muffler delete isnt a great option for sound on the Coyote. We can help get you setup with the H pipe or a complete cat back system and get the car sounding good Let us know if we can help

H pipe definitely calms down the rasp. But just put some damn mufflers on it, straight piped coyotes sound like ass.

A little less rasp maybe, but an un muffled Coyote sounds like @$$, almost as bad as Fart Can Hondas...... Sorry, just my 2 cents...
Agreed...

Have a '15 GT stock resonator with Roush Axle backs. The Roush mufflers are a straight through design. In the old days this would be called a glass pack. Sound is great.

Agreed the Roush axle back WITH a resonator sounds great. I loved that setup for years.

Without
a resonator and just a normal X or H and the Roush is too loud IMHO.

That's my setup, too, and it's perfect for me. However, since the OP already has an X-pipe I wouldn't recommend the Roush axle back.

I went with MBRP cat back and stock manifolds and H pipe. Love the deep sound and no drone. Now I am installing a set of Stainless Power headers to wake it up a bit. It will be louder and I am ok with that.

Your right. I'd even go as far to say that a lot of un-properly muffled 4V cars sound like $#it.

Hi everyone,

So currently i have a X pipe and a C&L muffler delete on my 2022 mustang gt. I just recently got the C&L muffler delete installed and i feel like it may be a little too loud. Maybe not super loud but it sounds lowkey like a straight piped infinity. I like that it is loud but i feel like it doesnt really have a tone it is just loud. I was wondering if i should maybe go with a H pipe to make it less raspy or should I go with aftermarket resonator? And if I did go with a aftermarket resonator which ones should I get? Also I have stock Cats and stock Headers.
Yes to resonator(s). It'll help mitigate the harsh rasp especially in the high RPM range. I would recommend a flow through version like the MBRP.

I've also had a lot of luck with straight through mufflers with straight through resonators. The combination has good volume and a mature tone. You'll be getting compliments on it in no time.

Also appreciate you ditching the straight pipes lol

I have a Borla s-Type Cat back, which has a great sound in everyday traffic and zero drone. If I was in the market for one now, I'd look at 'Thermal R&D' with Helmholtz mufflers

I have steeda H pipe and steeda axle back on my 2019 GT it is loud on cold starts. My wife and I can have a conversation at 75 Miles Hr with a deep sound in town when cruising but any new exhaust needs time to break in
