My 2011 GT/CS was the first. Bought it after I started my first job out of college. Met my Wife in that car. I remember all the nights getting out of work at midnight, running around with the windows down, listening to the Pype Bombs blasting. I thought I would have that car forever.....unfortunately life comes in the way and it just didn't make sense with having a new house, a boat, and a 100 lb American Bulldog.

This time it will be forever.....atleast until I can afford a GT350.....maybe my Wife is right, I can't make up my mind.....don't EVER tell her that!

Your mistake was keeping the boat over the Mustang lol

My first mustang

This will be my first Mustang. I've always been a GM customer. Back in the 90s my perception of Ford was not very good. Now these days they have done a full 180 in my books. My sister bought a 2014 Ford Edge and shes extremely happy with it.

But why the Mustang? This all started back two years ago when my grandfather fell sick and was admitted into the hospital in Vancouver. I flew down from Toronto and I had to rent a car. The lady at the car rental fleet mentioned for extra $10 dollars a day I can get a sporty car with 2 doors. Being it was just me and my wife I said sure, but I had no idea what I had gotten myself into. So after going to the parking lot and looking for the car parked in parking spot number 36, and I looked up there it was a Magnetic Grey 2013 V6 Mustang. At first I was like woah, then I was like WOOAH after I sat in the car and started up the engine. :eyebulge:

I drove the car for 3 days, and even got to drag race against some guy in a pick up truck V8 full of rowdy girls. He had absolutely no chance against the Mustang, and left him in the dust. This was the first time I really had fun in a car and it really opened my eyes. After I returned the car to the rental place I noticed the car had gotten incredibly good mileage for a V6, which really impressed me because I drove it like I stole it.

Then when I got back to Toronto, reality set in, and I immediately missed the fun I had with the Mustang. I told my wife my next car was going to be a 2 door sports car like the Mustang. I still had a year and a half left on my current cars lease so getting a new car was not an option at the time.

Fast forward to today. My lease ended and its time for a new car. I checked out the new 2015 Mustang on the internet and fell in love with the new design. I did not even check out any other car, I was like a horse with blinders on, I went STRAIGHT to the Ford Dealership, and ordered me a 2015 Mustang Ecoboost with PP. I was like its the Mustang or nothing.

I ordered on June 7th and I am still waiting for it, which is the hardest part. I am hoping it will arrive before October so I can drive it around for a bit before I have to spring for Winter Tires and New Rims.

To my car? Perhaps. To another person? No, mostly as a result of the lifetime of poor decisions!
Lol... I've had my share of hit and misses but in no way going to get shackled... ever to a person but to a car or truck, hell yeah

Time to revisit this thread....I finally took delivery of Willow on 11/22/14. My friend at the dealership sold it to me below invoice. My wife had been telling me for years to get a Mustang but being a family guy I insisted on getting the four door family car (2010 Mazda6 V-6 being the most recent). I am a hard core car junkie so I've kept a eye on my favorite pony car from afar. Even enduring the dark Mustang II days. This time common sense prevailed. I was dead set on the GT but after research here and knowing that I do a lot of mountain driving, I opted to go with the Ecoboost. So this is how how my first drive went. I took delivery at my friends dealership 50 miles from my home at a high desert dealership. My friend was my girlfriend from the 5th grade and we reconnected on social media. She is an amazing car junkie herself. She purchased a 2015 50th Anniversary GT that rolled off the trailer on the spot, replacing her 2013 California Special. I went to look at it on a Wednesday prior to picking it up. My wife was working so I wouldn't be able to drive it back until the Saturday. But I had to get a look at my Ecoboost Premium Plus Magnetic with PP and saddle interior. She was pretty. They informed me that they could release the car to me that day and I could do some paper pork that day and let me take it home leaving my older car there so that I could pick it up on the Saturday. That was a no brainer. They prepped it, fueled it up. The problem is the last stick I have driven was an 84 Escort. They kept pushing me to test drive my car but I was so nervous about stalling the car in front of anyone let alone my fifth grade girlfriend..the horror! So here I go on my first drive with her in the passenger seat. She led me around the back way and I tried to launch her in 3rd gear..Not a valiant move. She catches my error and traffic rapidly approaches. Finally salvaging my pride I find the proper gear and my Mustang roars to life like a loyal steed waiting to serve me. Holy schnickies this car was amazing! I take her around the block and quickly drop my friend off so that I can drive her home. The drive was pure white knuckle driving...Driving down steep grades on a pass that is under major construction with heavy truck traffic I was white knuckling the whole way. Even being followed by 2 generations of Mustangs and a new Challenger that want to ride my ass down the pass. My new pony kept me dialed in. The car is simply amazing. I do not regret buying the 4 pot and the refinement on this car is stunning. So how I felt with my new Mustang is, well. Amazed

This is my first Mustang also and it makes me feel "Like a Boss" (pun intended, even though the car is not). This is the first muscle/sports/luxury car I have ever owned and I love it and it's a dream come true. I love the attention this car gets at red lights and parking lots and I always feel good and have a smile on my face while driving it.

I never thought something like this would happen for me, I was a dip shit in high school and graduated in the bottom 25% of my class. It was thought I would be the guy who was never going to amount to much. Well joining the Army and taking my adult life seriously has paid off and now I drive the most iconic car in American History a Mustang, the only American car to be in production for 50 continuous years.

My first (and only) Mustang was a 1966 GT Fastback, red with black pony interior... She was rusty. She'd been stabled in a barn for the better part of a decade and no longer ran, and although I had never so much as changed an oil filter before, I knew I was going to bring her back to life, that there was no other car I could possibly buy and be happy with, knowing that this one existed. She was my first car, and I was only 16.

I went out to this guy's land every weekend for 3 or 4 months to work on her, and he and my dad taught me how to diagnose problems and assisted me while I replaced the ignition, purged the rusted out fuel lines, extracted the skeletons of birds and mice from various parts of the interior, replaced the brake pads and rotors, set the timing, and learned how to work a stick. I loved the way she smelled, the way the vinyl seats sounded when I sat on them, I would run my hand over the curve of the fastback roof every time I saw her, like I was petting an animal.

The first time she turned over I was absolutely overwhelmed, and felt a rush of pride and adrenaline unlike anything I've felt since. The exhaust pipes were rusted out so it sounded like she was running open headers, the whole car shook when I pressed the gas pedal. I felt like I could do anything, like there was no problem I couldn't solve. There was a moment that I will never forget, when I was driving her to a parts store and I understood for the first time what freedom was, where I stopped taking for granted that my life was full of choices and options and that I could make it, just like the car, anything I wanted. It was a right of passage for me, owning that car.

The final time I went to the guy's land to drive her home, he looked at me and told me that it was his pleasure to see the way I looked at the car, and told me that I only owed him $250. I hugged him and left with $4,750 in my pocket, when before I wasn't sure if it would be enough.

When I pulled into my parents driveway for the first time, the uber sexy brunette girl-next-door who was a couple grades older than me, and way out of my league at the time, leaned out the second story balcony in a bra and shorts and howled, throwing up horns.

I could go on and on about the emotional connection I felt (and still feel) towards this car, and how when I sold her it was the first time I'd cried in many years, but I think this should give you a pretty good idea of how it made me feel. I've been patiently waiting ever since for Ford to make a Mustang that moves me in the same way when I look at it, and the S550 hits every single mark. If it invokes a quarter of the emotion in me that my 66 did, I am sure it will be the second best purchase I've ever made.
WOW that is a moving story! Do you still have the 66? I'd love to see her.

Technically, i got my first mustang when i was 16, and it was a 1968 Fastback. It belonged to a coworker of my dads, and after seeing Gone in 60 Seconds, and learning that all the Eleanors' in the movie was just 67-68 Fastbacks with a body kit, i had to have one. I just barely got my license, and i thought it would be cool to cruise to school for my senior year in a classic mustang.

Turns out it wasn't all it was cracked up to be.

When i visited his friend, the car was under a tarp. It was in storage since 1999 (this was 2005 when i got it) and the car wouldnt start. It was rusty, and the interior needed a total overhaul. It appeared driving a classic wasnt a possibility. But, my dad convinced me of the potential he saw in the car, and that we could make it a nice project. His friend ended up giving me the car. For free. That was pretty awesome.

Long story short, i ended up getting a 1998 GT from a police officer here who blew the motor after a high speed chase. It had 180k miles on the chassis but the body and interior was in awesome condition. Swapped the motor with a 96 GT motor, did some small mods and drove it around like that for almost a year. That was my first taste of what it was really like to drive a mustang. After that I traded it for my 1993 LX, and i bought a 2011 V6 right after i graduated from the police academy. Ended up trading it for my 2011 Taurus, and now i want to get back into a Mustang. The S550 renewed my interest in Mustangs.

The fox is a love hate relationship, as it is with every fox. Some days you love it to death, and some days you just want to drive it off a cliff. But in the end you still stick with it.

Weird.
