All i wanted was a SC. then i got one... all i read about was how a blown out cat can blow ur motor... so i went catless. then i wanted tires so then i sweated axles so i got them. now im sweating my clutch... see where im going with this. a slippery slope. TBH if i did it all again id go turbo and that's where ill prob end up one day. u can keep your cats and dial a boost helps with everything else.

if you stay in in the 600 region i can see cats living a nice long life but then again that monkey on your back taps your shoulder and whispers blown motor from clogged cats every time you WOT and then you start going crazy.

My cats clogged at 650 rwhp.
They can't take back to back hits, so if you can space out the wot pulls, they should live alright

My car wasn't really any quieter with the cats than without. Kooks headers are going to be loud either way.

you want a decent resonator and mufflers if you want it to not be loud (it'll never be "quiet")

I daily'd two boosted gen 3's that had a Roush P2 kit on it. First car melted the cats at 6,000 miles. The blower was on for 4,000 of those miles. Traded the car at 14k.

Second car had blower installed at 900 miles and headers with no cats were installed immediately after blower install. Ran them with no tune for 2 years. Blew up the motor at 22,000 miles and the cats were put back on by the dealer. Melted them within two weeks of getting the car back so the dealer cut the cats out and replaced them. 4,000 miles later one was on it's way out (verified visually and by shaking it). Headers went back on. New engine from Ford was a POS so I traded the car.

I will say, I loved the headers with a Borla exhaust but damn was it LOUD.. I moved after they came off and it was still loud but sooooo much quieter... When I put the headers back on I hated it. The noise was awful and even louder because of our car port.. Cold starts probably woke the dead at the cemetery 10 miles away.

Tires? Ran 20" Nitto R2's year round because the MP4s could NOT get traction and it scared the shit out of me to drive it hard. Car was an A10 and I had the MP4's on it for a road trip. I punched it at 40 or so getting on an onramp and when it shifted into 4th or 5th it went sideways, and then backwards and then jumped over a drainage swale and up an embankment... And then onto the freeway across 3 lanes of traffic. Thank god it was in the middle of Arkansas where there was barely any traffic that day. Yup... I was THAT Mustang driver. Car was fine... My fruit of the looms were not.

Even with the R2's on it could break the tires free on the dragstrip shifting into 6th gear at 100+ mph.

No traction even my boosted Ecoboost vert uses a set of tires in 6 months D and S mode only no burnouts. It does hook up nicely. While SC sound amazing I would never boost a GT for daily.

This. šŸ‘†

With my very lightly modified 2020 PP1 with the 10R80 (JLT CAI, long tubes and an E85 tune), on a warm day if I hit it from a light first spins and second spins hard enough to short-shift to third very early.

With a blown car, like some have said, I'm sure you'll need to roll into it.

Unless you can heat them up, the 555 RIIs won't hold supercharged power on the street even if it's warm outside.

What? Of course they can.
I don't see how if they won't hold my very lightly modified car. When I use mine on the street, I use the same pressure as the track (20 psi) so that I can still turn ok.

What pressure are you running in yours on the street?

25-28? Not sure

I can usually give it the beans in 2nd (MT-82, 40mph) and it will hold. They're never going to hook in first.

They hold way better than something like a Ultra High Performance Summer tire (Conti/Mich/etc)

Your suspension may be making your straight line traction worse. I have worn-out stock struts up front and Eibach Pro Kit springs so nothing real stiff.

what rear suspension mods do you have?

I get it.

Car people can be like those "health food" conscious people. Eat a stick of gum. Cancer. GMO in your corn?...your DNA will forever be altered. Run anything other than pure OEM spec? instant doom!

Do things you wanna do. Enjoy them. Learn from them. ask for advice when you need it. Apply the most practical solution to YOUR situation. Rinse and repeat. That's the only way to enjoy cars and car people and keep you sanity and wallet in control while still enjoying the hobby🤣

Good point. Right now I have the Ford track kit and the Steeda bushings in the rear to line things up. It's all pretty much new.

It's set up more for handling, so I don't have a setup for optimal traction.

I daily boosted car around 700 rwhp and occasionally I’ll pulley down and e85 every so often with no issues but also allergy to cats. I do daily on Atturo AZ850. Rain or shine hasn’t given me any issues and I can usually dead hook 40 rolls. Been through several sets so far so I plan to keep using Atturo for daily and get a drag pack if I want to have fun.
What size are you running? I’m considering a 285/35/19 square setup, possibly 305 rear staggered. Going e85, steeda CAI. Should be roughly 450-ish wheel. All seasons may not like that for the summer. Atturos seem to be pretty budget friendly, so one season is fine for $600.

You need some sidewall in the rear. Putting the beans to a 20 inch tire with over 600whp you are on skates. Mickeys or R2's in a 305/45/17 and they'll hold way better than any "performance" tire.

I ran 315/35/20 on my old setup. Now I’m on factory pp2 wheels with 305/30/19 in all 4 corners.

Just find a tuner who will give you torque by gear and forget it.
