The voodoo is at 1.7 hp to cube.
A 602 BBC at 1.5 HP to cube is 900. 1.5 is easy to get and it is streetable

Use to run 600+ donovans in boats, both na and blown. That lope was something else. Still one of the nest motor sounds I’ve ever experienced, especially at idle.

been there, done that…ain’t as great as it sounds for anything other than CnC šŸ˜‰

Streetable…. Has brake lights, turn signals, and seat belts. Ohh, and grooved tires.

yea yea, I see ā€œstreetableā€ twice in your theory, and every car from the 405 on Street Outlaws is ā€œstreetableā€ too šŸ˜‰

I think it will either be a KIng Cobra using a big block with coyote technology or some variant of the Boss with a big block in it using the coyote technology.

Either way, it will have the DCT in it as its now a proven trans for the power level and manuals are just not as sellable to the majority.

I am not sure how many they would sell, but an all aluminum big block with a DCT would be the most American thing they could build. Holy ballz would that be awesome.

If they stay with the 5.2+supercharged combo:

Could they use the GTD engine since I'm assuming it's already certified for emissions etc? It has 'over 800hp'.

Is there any possibility that the LEGEND motor is just the GTD engine?

Would a (hopped up) Godzilla powered car ever pass emissions etc?

It has the modular bellhousing pattern.

Would it fit under the hood?

Direct injection, mild cam, different intake, CNC'ed factory heads....make something like 600hp NA?

Maybe use the 6.8 version instead of the 7.3?

Make a 7.0 so they can use the 429 name

I like to disassemble things.

For one, the GTD engine uses a dry sump oil system, so it wouldn't simply use that combination of parts.

If you study parts numbers, you see that the GTD engine is essentially the '20-'22 GT500 engine with minor changes (obviously, I'm ignoring oil system changes). The block, crank/rods, camshafts, are all the same. As is a host of other hardware. The biggest change was to the cylinder heads being revised as the GTD needed air injection in order to meet '25 emissions standards. There are now small passage ways just above the exhaust ports. The welded, tubular exhaust manifolds were changed too as they now have tubes on them to direct the pumped air. Different pulley for the Eaton blower as well.

but we don’t need to study part numbers…that’s what we have YOU for šŸ˜¬šŸ‘šŸ¼

Well, I probably got put on a naughty list for life with Ford for digging up the GTD weight so I'm treading lightly with what I'm seeing from the parts side...

At this point I feel like they can get about anything to pass emissions, they will of course water it down enough.

I am really hoping this is it and it has the BOSS name plate. With around 650-700 NA Hp and the DCT or manual option. I realize that is probably a pipe dream as most companies are going forced induction now. Cheaper route to achieve HP.

Word from round the campfire was ~560 to 580 hp from a naturally aspirated 5.2L, cross plane crank engine with the option to choose either a manual or DCT. There is a project name or code associated with it but I'm waiting for somebody else to post it.

I could be wrong about this but I don't think Ford would want to give such a power increase all at once.

Moving from the 3V to the Coyote was a huge 100HP+ gain. But Ford only released it once the competition had similar power levels.

I doubt we'll see anything more than incremental power jumps until someone starts competing with the Mustang again.
What Epiphany said sounds right on the money and ~575 HP NA would still be sweet.

I would be totally sold if they bring back physical button controls.

Also, serious question for those that track, is 575 HP NA really streetable? I am imagining lots of crushed rear quarter panels.

Are you referring to the Legend moniker that's being touted or the Boss nameplate they trademarked again in January?
