Is there any legal issue with Ford making a Mustang GT500, without the Shelby name?
I believe Shelby has the rights to the name GT500 (with or without the “Shelby” in front of it), so if that’s the case, then yes there would absolutely be a legal issue if Ford decided to use it. Would need to look up the trademark/patent though.

I was told by Jim Farley himself that they will not build another GT500. He said this is old technology and they are leaving it up to Shelby American. He also stated that Shelby does a good job with it.

Little context hear would be helpful. Not discounting your statement just a little background on connection to Farley where he would state that would help. I’d assu e he’d keep product direction pretty close to the vest..

Especially seeing how the latest GT500 is a vehicle built entirely by Ford Performance.

Ford Licensed Shelby, GT350, and GT500 from Shelby American and the Shelby Trust. They did not renew this license so they cannot build another car with any of those names or they'd lose a pricy lawsuit.

Sounds good, but under Jimmy Farley? I’ll believe it when I see it. The dude is destroying Ford from the inside.
If he's relate to Chris Farley, He's a Joke

They’re cousins
Now that doesn't totally surprise me. One came out as a great comedian and the other is ⁹ just a joke.

Business losses be damned, I'm at least thankful for Farley's appreciation for cars that go fast, stop and handle well. I cannot say the same for his predecessor, Captain Cubicle.

I agree, but so many drank the Kool-aid on investing so much on the EV BS they Fuxked themselves and their companies on doing stupid Shxt. Dodge has a longer journey ahead than Ford but without a doubt ALL of these companies will lose 10s of billions before the their heads are above water. Sad

Yep, he’s an actual car guy that races (and is pretty good from what I hear). That’s the type of guy you want running a car company, especially one that still produces a performance vehicle. At least IMO. QC could be a lot better, would help reduce some of those warranty/recall expenses in addition to some of the bad panel gaps and whatnot.

I have spent way too much time looking for pertinent information through UAW/Ford labor contracts. Mother of God, it amazes me that Ford is able to sell anything at all given the endless constraints they are bound by (and I was in a union for thirty years but the UAW nonsense is next level). You expect quality on top of that? How dare you! I'm going to contact the shop steward or rep and file a grievance immediately!
