OP it's almost like you are happy Cobb got nailed. If it really was about pollution EV's would not be pushed down our throats.

This sounds like it's just the settlement of what started years ago. Hasn't Cobb already adjusted their pro tuning software--and taken the diy tuning software option away--and stopped selling downpipes? Like a couple of years ago?

Some day the headline will read Lund got nailed. This will reflect what happened a couple years ago.

I always thought if they labeled the parts for off road use only they could sell it legally?

But, but, but…I thought everything was good in Texas and you could do whatever you wanted? I keep saying this, yeah it sucks here in cali with emissions stuff, but it’s coming to a city near you…

Then the EPA decided that was not good enough and started holding companies responsible for the miss use of their products.

This needs to go to SCOTUS, because the precedent could hold GM and Jim Beam responsible for you driving drunk, or any number of other things.

So, this is headed to SCOTUS soon. In light of the Chevron decision, this may slap down all attempts by EPA to regulate things like aftermarket tunes or exhaust as far as emissions concerns. may not limit local government actions, like cali's crackdown on using track mode on the street in regards to the exhaust dB though.

Had a Cobb Stage 3 kit and tune on my 2016 Focus ST. I liked it, worked well. I had zero issues and it was my DD. Then one day I went to check for an update and noticed the stage 3 tunes had disappeared. I think this might help explain why.
You should have saved all tunes to another location on your PC and as added backup to a thumb drive so they cannot steal them from you in a firmware update. More than one way to skin a cat.

I've been debating posting this, but I think this thread opens the door.

https://www.yahoo.com/autos/armed-epa-agents-come-car-180000514.html

" Some automotive publications have borderline celebrated this move. We won’t because we’ve been watching with concern as the EPA has moved from hitting big parts manufacturers and resellers, working its way down to small performance shops and dealerships. What’s next are private enthusiasts at their homes."
Just more steps toward socialism.

I fail to see how either of those two issues have any relevance with each other. One is an intentional subversion of federal law, the other is accidental.
Actually, EPA has become a corrupt Department doing the will of a certain party while subverting the Law to punish those who stray away from their agenda driven ideology. Nothing more.
