Needed ford roadside assistance for the first time in a long time. A vacuum leak shut down my Mach1 and i needed a tow. Called for assistance at 8pm last night, was told a couple of hours for the tow truck. 11pm rolled around, still no truck. I called in again and was told another 1.5 hours. The company they dispatched only had one truck in the Pittsburgh area? Im in the suburbs of Pittsburgh FFS, not some remote location. Watched many flatbeds cruise by as i waited. I canceled this service call and rescheduled for this morning. Was told 9-11 am, truck finally came at Noon. I spent a total of 7 hours sitting in a walgreens parking lot waiting on a tow truck. Really?

Better yet, add roadside assistance on your car insurance. Costs me $1 a month on each vehicle, is typically very cheap no matter what the carrier.

I've used it once. It was well after midnight, took under an hour for the vehicle to be picked up via flatbed.

I called roadside assistance to recover my Bronco to my dealer and they were at my house in less than 30 minutes. 🤷‍♂️

That sucks OP. I wouldn't purchase any new car hoping for good road side assistance, service or warranty work. All the manufacturers suck dick anymore.

I am pretty sure Ford works with a third party close to the area your car is stranded at. Some get lucky and some don't depending on the third party service. I think AAA is worth it they are usually pretty fast and have provided me decent service.

meh, luck of the draw?

I called AAA when my shifter bolt vibrated out on the 405 (yes THAT 405 in down-frickin-town LA) and I kid you not…I walked to the nearest parts store, bought a jack, two stands, a handful of cotter pins and was back on the road 6 hours before they called to say the tow truck was on its way. And then they had the balls to call me the next day and ask how the service was 😂

I also had AAA. Right out of Knoxville needed only a jump start. waited 5 or so hours, called Subaru roadside 800 #. There in the hour . Never talked to AAA.

can confirm…my daughter has them from me, but I had to switch when the rates started going nuclear. She got towed in 45 minutes, downtown Sandy Eggo.
