These were originally part of the Max cooling upgrade to Roush Superchargers. it adds an additional radiator cooler and engine cooler one to each side and the heat from it escapes out that vent going above the wheel well liner. rest is the intake vents that are also part of the kit that blows into the radiators, also a template to cut several small holes into the fwd section of the wheel liner to sort of add exit air behind the secondary coolers.

I recall an install video that they skipped that part cause they had GT350 style fenders so felt it was not needed.

Subbed in, would love to seem some pics too. I’ve got the fender vents and the hood vents in my cart, just haven’t pulled the trigger yet
Hood vents deff look like they are just a cosmetic change. Unless you open up the size of the hole on the hood - then you would reduce ā€˜some’ lift. Probably not a whole lot though.

Yeah I assume the hood vents are no different than the stock ones from a function standpoint. Which is fine since I don’t really track my car at this point

Subbed and will check this thread when I’m home from work. I’ve got a phase 2 as well and it does get hot on hot summer days. I’ve been eyeing the max cool kit as well.

@Stage_3 can you post some pics of your fender vents for the class?
lol

I wish I could, but I do not have the fender vents. I never upgraded to that cooling system.
I believe there are some on this forum that have though.

@NightmareMoon would these be more worth than the racelouver fender vents? They look like they wouldn't flow as much.

I would also be painting mine to match body color :)

I found a few Roush Stage 3 pics on the internet and found an Ingot Silver one. The pic below is a very crude "Photoshop" of one of those pics....crude as I blotted out the Roush stripes.

But the modded photo showed me what I needed to know. That is, I too would possibly paint the louvers the car color, masking off the honeycomb to keep honeycomb black, and then mask off the silver surround to give the black honeycomb a matte finish. Some folks on the other hand may prefer to keep the black frame and make the honeycomb silver instead.

Regardless, benefits for me would mostly be aesthetics, and whatever heat extraction that occurs, it would be a plus.

I had the max cooling package installed a few years ago, i have attached a few pics. I think it looks great on the car. They are functional as well, after a few pulls you can feel the heat coming out of them. Feel free to ask any other questions you have about the kit as well. Overall i am pleased with it, it definitely made a difference in temps. I live in Upstate NY so thankfully we do not get the crazy heat like in the southern states.

They look great! From a design perspective I appreciate Roush keeping the tri theme. Not bad at ~$265 from the big 3 vendors either.

I've been on the fence about fender vents for a while now. We'll see...

i would guess the ravelouvers would flow more, simply due to their size, but I have no data.

Probably race louvers would be more effective, however, my interest is aesthetics as well. Speaking of aesthetics, I modified my earlier pic further and I'm kind of liking the black bezel with silver honeycomb for my car.

Yeah I can't warm up to the looks of the race louver fender vents. These look purrfect.

Yeah despite the price (which I will chalk up to material/more flow) I will stay with RL's for my fender vents when I get them...I love the raw little over the top look.

Okay...so with a lot of work learning PhotoShop Elements, here's a better representation of what vents could look like on an Ingot Silver Mustang. (This is my 'stang used as an example). Of course it simulates the honeycomb painted silver.
