Nope… AAA can’t find your flat ass when you breakdown in “Holy Shit, what is this place,” Texas!! LOL.
I was totally amazed with AAA service one early Sunday morning 700-800 miles from home in a very rural section in VA during pandemic shutdowns.

If I had a spare and a jack, which my car did not, AAA would have changed the shredded tire with the spare, aired the spare up, and we'd be on my way. In spite of Ford's cost cutting (in the name of saving weight) AAA saved the day and the trip.

The AAA folks on the phone were very helpful, talking us through through locations and replacement options, ultimately locating a Walmart that had a Covid emergency plan that permitted them to replace the tire.

AAA towed the car (and even permitted us to ride in the truck, waiving covid protocol to help) to the tire center about 25 miles away.

And oh by the way, the Ford roadside service plan was unreasonable and useless in our dilemma. Their plan would have required towing to the nearest dealership. It would have required that we purchase their high-priced tire. And, of course being on Sunday, when all dealership service centers were closed, we'd have to find our own way to a hotel to stay overnight until Monday, paying out of pocket for that. Of course, we would have been further be delayed in the morning until Ford service could get to our car.

That was the first AAA claim I had in 10 years of membership, and in my mind that one incident was worth it, not from a $ standpoint, but considering the mess I'd have been in if I had used Ford's roadside service.

My solution for this is a 3D-prinded adaptor thats clicks into the OEM jack and fits between my BMR rail and the pinch weld.
https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6156428

I only use the jack in the trunk for an emergency (which hopefully will never come).
The part will hold even with repeated use, but is nothing for continuous use.
It puts the jack not only on the pinchweld, but with the bulge also on the jackingrail.
For all work on the car I have a decent hydraulic jack.

PS: You could also grind the OEM jack a bit with the angle grinder to make it fit despite jacking rail.

Hi there,

To confirm, do you have the BMR full length jacking rails?

Great. Thanks for the pics…I can see that the scissor Jack will, work on the rear tire change, but may not work on the front. These are the Stedda rails, right. Low profile..? I thinks I will go with the Steeda and just make some sort of adaptation pinch rail do hicky to use in case of emergency on side of road. Thanks again for,the help. Grandpa Bill

Thanks for that! I’ve been trying to find a super low profile jack with a flat top and nothing is as low as the Ford scissor. This is the solution I’ve needed, will ask pilotgore to make me one of those adapters. This is a awesome community!

I have the same question and was wondering if you came up with a solution to adapt the jack to the rails yet?

I just got reminded of the benefit of having a spare when I got flat in my other car late and a long way from home. I could have called roadside assistance, waited for who knows how long, and gotten home in the middle of the night. Instead, it only took me 15 min or so to slap on the spare and get back on the road.

Yes. I bought the Steeda low profile convertible rails and installed them. Also got the carbon fiber adapter from pilotgore and it fits perfectly between the jacking rail and the pinch rail so that you can use your Ford scissors Jack to change the front tire. I will be posting a video something inSeptember
when it cool down a bit.
