Sadly, I'm not going to do a header back setup for a long while lol sounds mean as hell though.

I just helped a friend install the Borla Switchfire. While it appears to be of good quality, the fitment wasn't too great and required some modifications. Not sure if this is common.

If I wanted raspy sound, I would go for GT350. I love the deep V8 sound so H-pipe all the way. This exhaust doesn't need anything else (and replacing those tailpipes is a sacrilege ). Long tube headers sadly change that too much for my liking.

I see this thread popped back up again. I half debated buying a Steeda H-pipe during the sale to compare to my Steeda X-pipe, but I gotta say I'm in the minority. I love the rasp and rowdy sound with the X-pipe. Sounds more "racey" and exotic to me so I'm sticking with the X still.

I have yet to do a resonator delete with 1400 miles on my 23 HP. I have a shop in town that can custom make pipes for the delete.

I see everyone do the X-pipe and while it sounds good I have heard one example of an H-pipe and I liked that sound a bit more. Anyone out there with an H-Pipe and has anyone tried a double Y-pipe?

I started with a res delete and shop custom H-pipe. Was lacking volume. Just felt like it needed "more." Ordered a Steeda X-pipe and had a shop install it and Bingo! Growly, deep down low, aggressive WOT. Little raspy yes at higher RPMs but given the number of compliments the X was a good choice. I generally run the active exhaust in normal mode around town and save sport for the highway or country roads simply because sport is pretty loud - in a good way.

So I currently have an H with one Vibrant resonator and stock AE but occasionally think it might be nice if it was a LITTLE louder. Have another straight H in the garage and debating putting it on but do not want to increase rasp. Any H guys with thoughts?

You’re not going to get a big displacement cammed old school big block sound out of a coyote no matter what you do. It’s not that kind of old technology.

I say do it. At least with mine, the H sounds very similar to stock at idle and low rpm’s, just louder. Higher rpms the rasp of the coyote comes through a bit but as Prodigal said, the coyote is naturally raspy so you’re never going to fully get rid of it.
