I have yet to do a resonator delete with 1400 miles on my 23 HP. I have a shop in town that can custom make pipes for the delete.

I see everyone do the X-pipe and while it sounds good I have heard one example of an H-pipe and I liked that sound a bit more. Anyone out there with an H-Pipe and has anyone tried a double Y-pipe?

I had a Corsa double H pipe before I got the g500 borla atak axle back welded. The h pipe fits the car more, in my opinion with the deeper rumble.
Great input! That is where my opinion has been forming as well, just not many examples to see the difference IRL and online (YouTube, etc)

I will let this post Marinate, however to get a better sample!

I now have kooks long tubes with the corsa double H, and the axle back from the gt500 borla atak lol. Quiet start works well but without quiet start, its pretty rowdy

I absolutely hate the raspy sound of an X-pipe, and all the aftermarket cat backs are way to loud for my taste. So I installed a GT500 take off OE cat back but cut off the X portion and replaced with an H. Sounds great, best of both worlds, bit more deep tone without being obnoxious.

The shop I go to can fabricate anything I want, so I'm leaning towards an H-pipe. A double Y might be badass too. I know old school muscle used those a lot.

You would be disappointed with the H Pipe. It sounds too raw and the sound isn’t very clean.
Had this on my Bullitt which is essentially a Mach 1 and started off happy but later the sound was too boomy and mashy sounding.
However I have just installed the switchfire and yes it’s expensive but it’s amazing. The sound is so clean and refined.
No drone what so ever which you will get with the h pipe. No rasp either, others report rasp at high rpm but it may these engines cause I don’t hear any rasp at all.
Also the switchfire is slightly quieter than the H pipe but overall it’s much much better than the H.

I went with an H pipe with the stock mufflers. It’s definitely a bit louder with great muscle car rumble. No drone at all on the highway.

I apparently have bad taste because I went with the Ford Performance X-pipe. I actually likes the rasp it adds to the Mach 1 and am very happy with the choice.

Question I have is= who makes the best fitting/highest quality mid pipes.

Steeda appears to be the most common, but does this mean best fitting?

It would be nice to have something that fits like oem but flows and sounds proper.

The shop that I took my car to for h pipe install said the Steeda was one of the best looking and well made aftermarket pipes he’s seen come through his shop. They do a lot of performance cars and hot rods, so he’s seen his fair share come through the shop.

Borla quality is typically top notch as well and I’ve heard the same about Corsa. Just make sure to get something that is T304 stainless, not 409 or aluminized.
