after posting the above link let me say I was shocked to read it. Maybe that s why we all don t always agree only because of such diverse experiences.

All the car meets that I go to are normally peaceful. People respecting the no revving the engine thing and all that. My problem is all the videos you see online of the street take overs in Cali that can go on sometimes for an hour with no cops whatsoever being there. And here they are pulling people over for a loud exhaust because it’s easier for them and they don’t want to get involved in any altercations where they might get shot over it.

What was the ticket for? I was surprised one of the most liberal states in the country has one of the strictest tint laws.
It's because of the cops. The cops want to be able to see into everyone's car. What's absurd is that the tint limit is 70%. That does nothing in such a sunny state.

Have you ever done a felony stop on a car with the windows so deeply tinted that you can’t see inside?
Obviously not otherwise you would understand why we have such laws
So much nonsense in this thread

I love how you instantly jumped to 5% tint, as if I lacked any sort of common sense and thought all tint laws are bad. I said California's 70% tint law is bad. 35-25% is a good legal limit.

Got pulled over last night for Front license plate. Told me I can't have any tint (mine is only 55%) and also told me exhaust is too loud. I told him its stock and I was in normal mode and he said it "sounded like track mode, be careful if you get a ticket you will have that removed from the car?" Haha ok bud Ill fight that in court no problem, they cant prove what mode I was in and as long as you don't admit right? OR would it be better to say sorry its modified ill get it fixed and if you get the ticket just pay fine and have it checked by the state inspector? This reminds me of that story of the Hyundai in N mode, the owner admitted to be in track mode and couldn't register the car. I am really hating Cali....

On a side note it was 12 am I was driving slow, a Tesla took off beside me full speed and pulls me over

I should just go all out get headers and be loud at this point LOL

On a funny note, this stop remined me of the movie Super Troopers. I pulled into a parking lot there was 3 other cops, I heard them laugh at me. Once the cop gave me the ticket he said "Let us back up first, you don't want to run into us with your nice car." In addition when he got in he turned his siren on full blast for about 10 seconds 🤔 😒
Midnight, three(!) violations but just one ticket, complaining to the forum about cops. You do know those laws about tint and front plate are noise are way older than you, but somehow it's personal. They were laughing? I bet they were.

I'm in Missouri, front plate required and I don't run one but I do have "Back the Blue" vanity plates and it works. I've had a few cops pull up behind me, see the plates and turn off.

I read what you wrote. Can I say that you come across as a boy with a man's car? Your behavior would not be acceptable at a child's birthday party. In life, or in this conversation.

But that aside let us simply admit that these cars are very loud. I know, mine is loud. What do you expect to happen in a place with stringent noise regulations? Then to top it off you had two other violations. Tint, well, cops really don't like when they can't see what your hands are doing. It was the combination of violations that likely led to the stop. I know cops, tint often leads to other things, and they play percentages.

Did you buy the Mach 1 not to get noticed?

I know it's fashionable to make fun of cops these days; if you ever need 911 make sure you show them this thread.

Take care now.
