I did some searching around on the forums, but couldn't find Mach 1 specific answers, so I'd just like to confirm the following about track mode in our Mach 1s (I have a 2021 if it makes a difference):

1. Track mode does not entirely disable stability control, correct? It will give me more room to "play", but it will still step in before I do a 180 into a tire wall or something? Yes I know no stability system can overcome the laws of physics if I do something sufficiently stupid, but I'm sure you understand my question.

2. Track mode does disable the pre-collision detection, correct? I can't seem to find a way to disable that from the dash menus otherwise...

Thanks for your help!

Check owner's manual.

Track mode is not disabled but it works differently in this mode:
"A performance oriented traction control mode is automatically utilized. In this mode, traction control intervention is reduced and tuned specifically for track usage only."

The icon of ESC lights up. It doesn't disable stability control (long push of the ESC button is needed for that).

"The pre-collision assist system turns off when using Track Apps or when you switch off your stability control system."

@RocketGuy3 you may however change the "sensitivity" of the pre-collision detection. With the most numb setting I am almost detection free.
Yup, I did the same and have never had issues with it.

To adjust, hit the settings button on the steering wheel, driver assist, pre-collision alert.

Thanks for the help guys. I tried to RTFM, but admittedly probably did it a little too half-assedly. Sounds like Track mode should be just what the doctor ordered for the track... which makes sense given the name, hah.

I believe I do have the collision detection all the way down, but it still beeps at me just a bit more often than I'd like. Especially if I'm taking a turn with some spirit, and there's something in "front" of me (that I'm currently pointed at, but obviously turning away from). I'll need to double-check, though, as the last time I messed with this setting was when I first go the car years ago.

My Mach 1 did NOT disable the pre-collision bull shit while in track mode. I found that out the hard way trying to present myself (aggressively) to a dip shit C6Z who would not give me a point by for 2 laps. I got on his bumper on T10 and the pre-collision alert came on. That crap went off asap.

Yeah if I'm driving really well I've learned to tailgate a bit so as to encourage a point and get on with it. I've have the red lights flash on my screen.

Instructors might not approve. But then there was a time that the instructor told his student to NOT point me by because he mistakenly thought we were equally matched. Turned out that instructor and student were both Porsche owners. Heaven forbid a Porsche should ever point by a Mustang!

I feel that.

On amateur weekend track days it is 90% the driver, 10% the car.

Hey not all of us Porsche guys are assholes! I've pointed by so many cars that had no business being faster than me 😂 😭

When you say "that crap went off", do you mean you turned it off? If so, how? I thought you could only dial back sensitivity... that is potentially deal-breakingly broken if there is no way to disable the pre-collision assist on such a performance focused, trackable car.

....
And I never claimed that! I went and talked to that driver after that session. It was his third track day. It was the instructor that admitted he told the student to not point me by. But you know what? He pointed by 3 or 4 other cars that I had to point by, to prevent creating a train. I drove 2 or 3 laps in the red mist.

Anyway, we became friends that day and I gave him some pointers and tech tips and answered his questions. Really nice guy. The instructor on the other hand...

Generally whenever I see a Vette or Porsche behind me, I tap my mirror and point them by at the next zone.
