I have picked up a wealth of information on this site, some of it interesting that does not and will not pertain to me, but some very important, valuable information that will protect my investment!
I am referring to aftermarket upgrade parts that should have probably been part of the factory build…such as the two plastic clutch fluid lines, the plastic reverse lockout collar on the manual shifter, the stiff clutch pedal spring (this may be more of a preference than a necessity), the yellow plastic oil drain plug that can break.
Are there any that I am not aware of existing? I am familiar with the body-mounted shifter, I don’t plan on driving it hard so I should be okay, but if the situation presents itself I will likely have an MGW shifter installed.
Any suggestions of parts upgrades to avoid catastrophic failure would be appreciated. Thank you.

It's not an upgrade to a part, but Ford needs to fix its process to ensure the transmission fluid is topped off from the factory. For years now, cars have been shipping with low fluid and experiencing poor transmission performance. I'm inclined to believe that some people think the 10-speed transmission sucks just because their fluid is low.

IMO none of these are issues, or need addressed.

The rear suspension, OTOH, is.

I would say some of the stuff for the IRS. The alignment kit and some of the basic stop the hop stuff would something that easily could’ve been done at the factory.

Regarding the rear suspension, are these issues while launching or ‘taking a Sunday drive’?

Great topic. I thought about this when I was tightening up some of the slop in my 2014 Mustang. Something I realized was that a lot of the things I replaced were engineered for a mix between comfort and performance. Just to name a few upgrades like the shifter and rear suspension parts. It's all personal preference, but I was willing to sacrifice a bit of comfort for a tighter feel on certain things. Also, the manufacturers have to leave some of the performance goodies out of the base models so they can sell the mods on their upper models. i.e., PP1/2, GT350/500, Mach 1 and so on.
Someone mentioned the plastic oil plug. I haven't had issues with mine, but I thought "what a stupid idea" to have a plastic oil pan and plug. Maybe it will be fine. Time will tell.
They could do something with the audio system. My Kia Sedona sounds so much better.

The lug nuts need to be replaced ASAP with ones that wont strip from the wrench.
Better yet, not swell at the slightest hint of moisture.

Both. The car feels real loose from the factory due to the IRS moving when cornering, stopping, and starting.

Hell I think it moves sitting at a stop light. 🙂

driving around in a parking lot. The car has a hinge in the middle. And the damping is "barely acceptable" esp for a car that is marketed as above a Civic, and yet falls way below.

Power is NOTHING without CONTROL. The Mustang has no control. and NO I do not mean "harsh" or bumpy ride == "control". It completely different.

Ford's MR is second-rate (compared to GM) but they further hamstrung it by mounting the IRS and other related part using marshmellows. Heaven forbid the cabin be less quiet than a cut-rate Hyundai.
