GT500 Cam covers came in. Really want to powder coat them but I’ll leave them as is. At least no more smoke at Summit Point

1. Wut? What smoke? Generic valve cover oil leak?

2. GT500 valve covers kit on GEN2 Coyotes? Is there a reason to make the switch?

1. The past two years on the track at Summit Point, I have been black flagged for smoke out the exhaust. Last year It occured in the last session. No CEL, No high Oil temps and no drop in performance. I was able to drive home and the issue never occured again until last month again at Summit. I realized it occured during the same turns on the track. There was an oil residue on my CAI airbox when I came into the paddock. I drove home again without issues. After doing some research on here I found that it is a common occurance with the oil getting into the driver side PCV. There are a few threads on here regarding it that can explain better than I can. The GT500 covers have better baffling.

2. If you track the car then it will depend on the track you run. IF not, then no need to worry. There is another mustang who had smoke suring the same sequence of turns and straights.

Do you run an oil separator?

Not as exciting as most of you guys but I took my ‘22 GT out today for the first time in 5 weeks while I’ve been rehabbing from a new knee in my clutch leg.

North GA mountain 2-lane tree canopied roads, not much traffic, windows down, car in track mode…pure joy is the only way to describe it. This much fun should be illegal.

Come to think of it, most of the ride was.

I'll be keeping Skye until I cannot drive any more. It's going to be a while. For those of you in the same situation, here are a few items which might interest you...

https://www.target.com/p/set-of-3-o...-bigso-box-of-sweden/-/A-81875908#lnk=sametab

Bigso boxes of Sweeden makes, well, boxes. Binders are traditionally used to keep documents, but some keepsakes can't fit in binders. The set of boxes listed at Target is at a great discount, the quality is fantastic and the color goes with anything.

https://www.moleskine.com/en-us/

Moleskine makes notebooks and ledgers. Different sizes, colors, soft or hard bound, they are good for recording items of the car, taking notes, etc. Check them out in a bookstore or buy online.

https://www.redbubble.com

I discovered Redbubble while looking for stickers. If you have a thought of any kind, this site has a sticker for it. I received a stack in about one week.

Today I got my little doll back from the collision shop after being rear ended by a distracted driver. Her insurance company covered all repairs. The rear bumper cover, absorber, and impact bar was replaced and she looks better than new. I hope I never need any more collision work, but if I do, I found a shop I can trust. Pardon the picture, I had to drive her home in the rain.

Shhhhhhh...... how dare you...

On this site, people don't drive S550 Mustangs, they park them in their garages and stare at them like they're 1:18 die-casts sitting on a shelf...

And oh if it rains, please don't let it rain even when the car is in the garage... because that just causes . . . site wide pandemonium.

😆🤣

It's an interesting tool - had the minds behind it thought about it more, they could have added a "T" there to make it a 2-way tool to not only compress the gap, but to make it larger as well.

I have this old school one from back in the original 5.0 days, it's from Jacob Electronics:

---

Or if you're of those types that does things the MacGyver way (LMAO):
I've been using the notch on the gapper and needlenose pliers to open gaps up for 25 years. Never had an issue.
