i finally bought and installed the oil catch can, passengers side! took that pcv pipe off and just smelled oil lol glad i did it, but 180 bucks for some aluminum and some rubber, damn.

@davbrucas, have you considered getting a tune on the car that lowers the Rev limit, so your son can’t get into trouble with the car? I did this (set Rev limiter to 4K in the tune) when I gave my 11 second 1/4 mile 04 Mach 1 to my 15 year old son.

Friendly suggestion to everyone taking photos of their cars - don't choose the backlit angle!

Here are two great looking cars showing us the shaded side of their gray cars with black wheels, (and black rock guards for one).

Even my Outrageous Orange looks best with the sun shining directly on it.

It is painful. Adding my son's WRX increased my insurance over $2k a year.

No drilling required. They send you the emblem with a 3M adhesive backing. If you prep the surface with 3M adhesive promoter, it will stick permanently.

I see they make several different types. What style did you do? Chrome? Brushed Metal?

As someone who spent a lot of time driving high performance cars at that age I think its awesome and encourage the fact that he get to drive it. BUT I would highly recommend there be a boring option used regularly as he most likely wont have the experience to handle that car in all situations he will find himself in even if its not his fault. I wrecked an 01 MDX in high school because I didnt handle a lady running a stop sign in front of me right, she was 100% at fault but I still got wrecked. Now take that and add in 460hp and the cops will immediately assume you son was at fault, not a good experience for him.

Plus we all know how young adults can get with hormones and high school drama and just life stress of becoming an adult, we didnt always make the right decisions and acted on those stupid impulses and thoughts in our head.

why not buy it back and repair enough to get it up to dedicated OFFROAD vehicle? Since you wouldn't give a damn about costmetics, maybe repairable for <$8000 incl labor? Question is how much of the frame is bent. If it's just the front impact members then there's hope.

Track orgs don't requires airbags AFAIK which means you're at most a rollbar and racing seats+hans+harness away from track duty.

and cars are ENTIRELY too protective/safe/forgiving of stupidity. IMO mandatory motorcycle for 2 years before being allowed to drive 3500lbs+ of death.
