The R’s use(d) an existing size 305/30 and 315/30 cup 2 when that car hit the market, which I believe it shares in size with several other cars including some porches. A cup 2 didn’t exist for the 295/35 & 305/35 profile until ford commissioned Michelin to make them, which then went on the 19-20 350’s and carry the FP marking because they were bespoke specifically for ford performance. Since the gt350 was less track oriented than the gt350R, they decided to make the tire compound harder and “less track oriented.”The Cup 2s on the 19/20 GT350 are slightly harder than the R Tires. Why they branded them the same is beyond me. The R tires do not have the FP markings
The tires use the same design and had the name recognition, so why call them anything different. . .
