I ran many centri's for 22 years. I will never go back. 90% street driving fun = PD. Period.

Absolutely and completely agree with this statement. I too have had the gamut of different power adders since the start of the fox bodied mustangs in ‘87 with an old ball drive Paxton. For the street, to me anyways, nothing compares to a PD blower.

A good Centri setup with a 10R80 is a match made in heaven though!

I have a 6 speed with 4.09 gears. I couldn’t go pd if I wanted unless I change my gear ratio, but a 4.09 with a centri is a match made in heaven.

We might be able to better guide you down the path knowing what your desired plans/application are. Are you racing? What are you racing?

For instance, Drag racing and Road Racing are two completely different types of car setups. Anybody who tells you they have a car that can do both in all actuality likely can't do one or either very well.

ED - PD Blower install is easier than a Centri install. Way easier. If you can unbolt your intake manifold, you can bolt a PD blower on, and from there it might be plugging in new injectors and flashing a tune.

But installing a Centri is essentially removing belts and bolting on if you simplify it that much.

Yeah, that's fair.
However, I'm a complete idiot, and with an occasional check to the manual for torque specs and whatnot, I was able to install a KB Mammoth in just a couple of hours. I couldn't say the same thing for a Novi 2000.

No offense whatsoever, but installing a KB in a couple hours seems just a little far fetched. I’ve never installed a KB though. (Maybe there’s no belt stuff and brackets to worry about and the intake can stay where it is) I’m not sure what you do career wise, but if you are truly that quick, you should be installing these things professionally. Having installed a myriad of PDs and centris, each and every single time the centri was far quicker. Not even close actually.

Again, no disrespect in any way, but how long do the instructions say the install should take on the KB as well as the others?

I’d be very wary of a Centri on a car with an MT. The fact that you have one less gear to 1:1 than the earlier cars just makes it worse.

I wouldn’t be putting too much stock into the opinions of guys running e85 in their A10 centri cars on drag radials.
Your car isn’t the same, your goals probably aren’t the same either.
You probably aren’t even the same kind of driver, you opted for a clutch for one thing….

Manual car on the street = PD blower unless the owner has a very specific need for something else IMO.

I agree with this, and recommend a PD SC with a 2018 up MT82 every time.

What about a gen 2 mt82, specifically with the 3.73s? The closer gearing with the higher rear end change your mind at all? Just curious in hearing your opinion, I’m still stuck on the fence

Consider also that you can install a pd and 3:31 pumpkin down the road. Consider that in your budget too.

I have zero experience with Centris but have a gen2 6m with G5S2 Whipple and it’s awesome

What do you do if your me then? I have 4.09 gears and have plenty of low end because of it. I have a manual but I went with a Paxton. I could have got a whipple and waited 20 weeks for it to come in and then pay another 1k to swap my gears back to 3.55. I personally think a centri is my only option.

Well….you don’t have “better low end”. You have a car that needs to shift up gears sooner (Relative to road speed).
So, when you shift into second, the guy next to you is still in first etc.
I‘m quite sure the car feels subjectively faster though because each gear produces more torque (approx 14%j at the rear tyre than it did with the 3.55’s
Why would you “need“ to swap back to 3.55’s with a PD? On the strip I get it, but for road use it would just be hilarious. 4th gear might even get sketchy on the right (wrong?) tyre.
