Got my first ever 'muffler' ticket haha

So last night I got my first ever muffler ticket, but no 'fix it' ticket. $174 during a 'checkstop' to check vehicle equipment haha. I was very polite to the cop, told him your are most entitled to your opinion on what the definition of 'louder than stock is'. No decibel meter was used. 6 mins later I was outta there. I plan on pleading not guilty and get the ticket tossed.

Without a meter that’s the easiest ticket on earth to beat. Just go to court and ask for the calibration cert on the officers ears. The road pirates are back in the game heavy this year. They want to recoup some of last years covid loses.

I would appeal it too and ask how one can get such a ticket based solely on “hearing” it…. I mean, supposed the owner is half deaf, to them the muffler won’t sound as loud…. LOL.

Well, cops routinely give speeding tickets based on their estimate of the speed. They are trained for it and you will not beat it in court
Some department train their officers the same way regarding noise
No sure in Canada
Anyhow, loud exhaust is a lack of respect for other people and there is no excuse for it pass the age of acne and pimples

My axle backs are 50 state legal. Which means California legal, which translate to it’s a noise tax .... so that tickets is

The real question is how would you determine what is loud?
I am being serious here. If your neighbors or having a good romp and you hear a little moaning, would that be loud?
