Would that be the monkey business theory, Tom? I could certainly see that being a cause.

Just checked and for whatever reason, my hood is of the male gender. <smile> No krax.

If you don't care about image resolution, those types of photos are all over the Web, Tom. But, if you're picky and want more pixels, it takes some searching. Here's one...

Body shop is taking pics and forwarding to Ford corporate. Not going to touch the car until they hear back.

Ford corporate is already aware (unofficially). They all monitor this site.

No doubt and now they will be notified via official channels.

I just looked again. This time with a high power flashlight. No cracks.

When I got my car home last March, I noticed the hood was higher than the fender so I readjusted the hood stop bumper until the hood matched the fender, I have no cracks.

There may be something to this. I adjusted my hood when I first got the car. The bumpers sat too high as well. In fact the whole hood had to be realigned due to fitment issues. Its still off in one spot, but I don't care to mess with the hinge at that adjustment point.

If the bumpers are too high, that would put undue stress on the "B" side of the hood. I think that is a strong possibility. I would suggest anyone without the cracks make sure their stops are adjusted correctly.

Isn't it a shame that the cars leave flat rock like this?

@Houston Kid hood looks like it is a 1/4" higher than the fender in this picture of the drivers side. This would put a lot tension on the hood and hood pins.

I’m very much thinking hood alignment/bump stops causing undue stress on the supports as the hood is pushed up too high.

One more piece of the puzzle, both cracks happened after the topcoat was cured on the hood.
