I avoided the manual in my 15 GT, because MT82, but I regret it autos suck.

The best car not yet released IMHO will be the Mach 1, bring on the tremec

I am telling anyone who hasn't tried it, MGW or Barton hybrid 3, those really transform the cars shifting, and a added bonus is the bg synchoshift 2 fluid makes it gets smoother from cold quicker.

I did mine at 2k miles, and I wish I did it day 1. Whole new car shifting experience.

M82 with those 2 shifters, is worlds difference, and imo its PERFECT for an EcoBoost, but I read GT's are destroying them from purely power standpoint, they aren't holding up to the power. but an EcoBoost, we don't have that rawness and holds up perfectly

on an EcoBoost dedicated forum (not here) I never hear of m82 failures, but gt guys, simply shredding them to pieces.

I got a manual because at the time I legitimately thought they were going extinct. Same reason I also got a 5.0 - I thought it was only a matter of time before V8s, or even gas engines all together, would be phased out. It's still trending that way and if we do go full electric one day, at least I have my V8 manual car. One day down the road I might have an electric car that will be blisteringly fast and run 10s stock - but I'll still have something to jump into and cruise the canyon roads here, rowing the gears, V8 noise bouncing off the canyon walls - and that's all I ever wanted from this car.

That‘s basically exactly how I felt too. Plus, as good as the autos are, they’re still just boring to me. Maybe I’d feel different if I was always at the drag strip, but I’m not so I don’t.

Because I hate myself. I had a really nice auto with my GTI and it was great, but eventually boredom sets in. Feels like an appliance with a turbo. Manual to me has its positives and negatives, but overall it provides higher highs and is more fun when you want to do sports car things.

I grew up (driving) in a V8 muscle car with a 4 sp. Its a unique driving experience that is becoming rarer every year, one you just cant get in the vanilla computer-moderated cars they offer today, or an auto trans car. If its your thing, it is what driving is all about. My Bullitt delivers what i am looking for. i always turn off the traction control off when heading for a “fun road”, btw.

For me I wanted a manual, and to get a performance pack on a convertible in 17 your only choice was a manual.

Just don't drive a 7-sp manual, because you'd be disappointed. Drove a 911 with it, and no thanks. But Porsche gears their 6-speeds for the track, and I don't like them. The Bullitt is geared perfectly for the street, but of course the drag and track guys don't like that... but that's what a PP2 is for. The Bullitt is just a GT cruiser.

I picked up my EB in manual and am loving it so far... but have been drooling over the short throws from MGW and Barton. Any preferences or recommendations? (I’m having a hell of a time deciding on x-spec or regular for the mgw)

I used the Steeda short-throw and Steeda rear bracket. The short-throw was ok I guess. I prefer the longer throw of the Ford unit. The bracket is absolutely required.

The Porsche 7 speed is basically a highly modified PDK. It has some interesting functions on the latest version, like it won't allow you to upshift or downshift if it would harm the engine. It's basically an automatic with a clutch pedal.

My first car was a 1963 Triumph TR3 with a manual. I bought it in 1968 when I was sixteen. Never had a auto except for my beater and my new F150. Love the Mustang manual. I have two Porsche 911,s and two Triumph TR6 cars all manual (of course) and a lot of fun to drive.

This is purely between reverse lock types

Barton is pull up collar like oem
Mgw is push down.

my cars are allpull up collars so I stick with that for habitual sake
