Barl14 is correct; by the time you graduate, your tastes will probably change...and you may find yourself wanting a more refined "real sports" car like the Supra and the upcoming new Z car.
Definitely not, if anything maybe a different muscle car or something but I absolutely have no affection towards any of the import sports cars tbh

What, will higher education make his tastes worse :giggle:

Yeah a BMW with Toyota badging, or an upcoming parts bin car from a twice dying auto manufacturer, those would be great choices

Stick with Mustangs kid. I'm suspect of anyone on a Mustang forum who would tell you not to buy a Mustang.
Lmao that’s what I’m saying that’s actually funny as hell. Dudes on A mustang forum telling me to go after a Z or a Supra... I’ll stick with the stang 7 days a week 365 days a year lol

Congrats man. That's an awesome first car. Even better is you had enough money to pay it off this soon. You are ahead of the debt curve right now, so I'd follow the advice of everyone else here and keep the Eco until after college. I find that cars get dinged up a lot in a college parking lot because people don't care. Watch out for that.

Keep and enjoy the Ecoboost, it's a great Mustang. It is much better as a daily on gas, and has plenty of low end torque anyhow. Save your money and learn how to invest it, get into crypto and precious metals is one good way, now it's the time. Then in few years when you multiply your assets you can use some of it for the next toy...

Maybe, though I have been a mustang guy forever and don’t expect that to change much
You are 16. "Forever" isn't worth very much. My taste has changed many times since I was a teen. So have the cars. Wait until you are able to make more mature decisions.

Open up a Charles Schwab account, put a significant part of your savings in it and use it to buy Tesla shares (TSLA), hold the stock till you graduate and you can then buy almost whatever car you want.

Yeah I thought about that... people don’t give a shit about other people’s stuff especially in college lol. I have been talked out of the idea in this forum already but thx for the advice

Thxyeah I get like 22 mpg in the city and like 30 something on the highway so that’s pretty unbeatable. I don’t know if I’m really old enough to significantly invest but I do have a little bit of gold- not much tho just one thing.

You'd be right if we weren't talking about Mustang's. It's the kind of bug that can bite you as a child and follows you through your life. I was into them before I was even interested in cars. They were always just cool. If you "grow out of it" you buy a Camry. Or the Ultimate Leasing Machine :giggle:
Lol fr. Also you’re not wrong about it not being a long time but it’s still valid to say that since I’ve been a mustang fanatic since I was like 8 and my dad is too that I will probably still be a mustang fan in a few years. I have absolutely no interest what’s so ever in tuner cars and imports and I don’t think that’ll change. I enjoy the American made side of the mustang and just American made stuff in general

The thing with college is that it's all about delaying gratification. If you can't do it, you won't make it through. You will have many nights where you barely even have time to whack off because you're so deep in the books. So having something that you've promised yourself on the other side, something that gets you to do what's necessary to get to it, gives you a huge leg up on making things easier for yourself. Especially since most people struggle with abstract rewards like a degree and a career.
This.

I drove junk throughout my college years, and didn't buy my first new vehicle until I was 28. You're light years ahead of most college kids at the moment, enjoy what you've got. And keep your eyes on the prize (whatever it may be) for the reward after graduation.

Am I even old enough to? Hell I’d love to and I’ve thought about doing stuff like that but I just don’t know the rules around somebody so young opening an account like that

Hey, he might get rich and decide he wants a Lambo. In any case, there will be a better Mustang.

Even if I did I think I would prefer a top of the line 500 or something over a Lambo. I dont think I could ever justify spending like 250k plus on a car no matter how much money I had
