Then why are we still talking about it in the S550 general forum? This would be a stupid, pointless swap into an S550 and would require a lot more money and a lot more modifications to make it fit than a blower of equal HP.
Depends on what you're starting off with. A salvaged S550 without an engine or body in white would be a decent candidate for this swap. Not everyone is going to start off with a healthy coyote in an S550.

For a reasonable person, you'd be correct. Go back and read through and you'll find many opponents were thinking this was going to be the same weight as an old stock big black that had cast iron heads and intakes. It wasn't going to be able to produce horsepower. It wasn't going to be able to rev.
The 7.3 wasn't designed to rev or make big HP either. That's what you're starting with, with a lot of work ahead of you to put one in an S550 for no gain unless all you really do care about getting is cruising with more rumble and easier burnouts.

If someone is going to call the 7.3L engine a heavy boat anchor, then they best start calling the coyote with a supercharger a boat anchor. At least then there will be some consistency.
OK.

Make that an expensive boat anchor . . .

Looks like a great engine to drop into one of those Ford/Lincoln/Mercury land yachts from the 70s. Would be great to have a 7.3L fuel injected big block with a 10 speed auto in a Continental Town Car, Grand Marquis, or an LTD.
Exactly ^^^

That greatly depends on the intent. For they extreme high horsepower enthusiast, it might very well prove that the 7.3 may be a better platform. 1800hp out of a coyote is no small feat, and typically takes a complete custom build including a billet block ($13k for just the block) along with more cubes and custom built gt350 heads. Brian Wolfe is (trying) to do it using stock head castings, stock block and stock crank and even the stock oiling system. Granted its not going in an S550, but at those horsepower levels....any coyote would be a complete 100% custom build....using virtually no stock engine components.

15k for custom shaft mount rockers?
No.

you know the crank centerline sits 3 inches lower than the coyote right? How's that fitment now ? And that massive shaft the drives the oil pump? Did you think of that?

Do you sell 7.3 crate engines?

It's going to take an aftermarket k member not doubt. No one said it was going to drop right in.

Even Brian Wolfe thinks these will end up in late model mustangs once they start blowing engines and age a bit more.

I had one of those RVs.. Could sleep longways in the back as a kid.
I remember in college, when a mid-70s Marquis parked next to my puny Mercury Lynx (Ford Escort cousin). I was back from the parking garage wall a couple of feet. This Marquis was a c-hair from the wall on the front bumper, and was sticking out about 6-8 feet from the back of my Lynx. I've wanted one since that day, but haven't pulled the trigger.

We had one of those 2 door Mercury Marquis. Same length as the 4.. That door for an 8 year old required some steps. You didn't just swing it closed if you were a kid. I walked it closed.

I'll believe it when I see some results at a reasonable cost. Ford's has a long history of latest and greatest engines that proved to be underwhelming.
6.0....still have nightmares from mine...can't get rid of the damn thing noone wants it, and it breaks faster that I can do repairs to keep it from throwing codes :/

The first thing that comes to mind is the 514 crate motor from the early 2000s. Valve train and intake were totally unsuitable for the street. The second was the 312.

Nope, just a big fan of engine swaps and hot-rodding.
I've done a couple of swaps myself, so I really do get this. But any swap still has to make more sense than simply demonstrating it to be possible.

That is my feelings as well. If I'm serious about building a big motor for drag racing, I'm starting with a Merlin or Dart. I'm not going to invest thousands in a stock block build just to see if I can do it.
